If you want to play a game that's challenging and forces you to constantly re-evaluate how you play, this is it. It keeps you thinking how to approach new opponents and it punishes you for button mashing (most of the time). You will usually have something at stake if you die, and it also isn't the end of the world if you die either. The game is well-thought through and it feels balanced in every way.

If you enjoyed the Dark Souls series, you will run into an enemy from time to time that will remind you of their past games. I honestly felt like some enemies that you run into deeper in the game were made just as a joke from the developers to make it feel like you're discovering Dark Souls again. One of the mini-boss' music felt exactly like it came out of Dark Souls!

This game should be an example to all game developers out there for perfected game mechanics.

The graphics are lacking for this generation, but it obviously hasn't been the focus of any of From Software's games. I was very disappointed after upgrading to a widescreen 21:9 ratio monitor to see that this game didn't support that screen ratio upon first starting the game. Again, these things have never been the focus for this developer.

You are buying a game like this just to play a great game. Because the graphics aren't too demanding, you should be able to run this easy on many gaming laptops made within the past 5 years. The game was designed to maintain peak performance at all costs, as proper timing is essential for a good gameplay experience.

To this end, the experience has been very unique. I'm looking forward to what this developer has coming up next!
