I knew something was wrong with Jere when I first met him. There was a distant look in his eyes. Dreary. He was full of dread: taut. A veritable water balloon of dread. One day, I want to "Throw," him at a wall and see it all flow out. Does that make me sick? I used to walk the streets and look for a meaning to his emotions. Why could a man with a solid gold toilet be full of such dread? Is he afraid of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in it or something? I mean, I wouldn't use a golden toilet either. There was always something off about him. Every knew that. Long, deep shadows beneanth his eyes. He would speak slowly and move slovenly. The closest comparison to his would be an dementia-ruined elderly man. His awareness of those around him was limited. I used to throw bits of paper at this head and he wouldn't even react. At some point I used to staple his fingers to his desk and he still would care. One time, I caved his skull in with a bat. He just continued working. I once poured boiling hot coffee all over him, plus a cup. He smiled distantly.
following an entirely uneventful and rather disappointing night on the town i entered my house in a pitiful manner. carefully taking off my coat, i throw my keys into my fruit bowl. i miss and it lands in the slightly damp sink at the immediate right of the bowl. curse my incompetence -- i sit at the foot of my bed, taking off my shoes but not my belt. with a final stretch, i rest my sorry head onto the mattress in wait for the day. i sleep dreamlessly, which i would typically consider disconcerting if not for the realisation that i was presently inside of my shower; my entire bed, that is, was laying inside of the shower. it was very wet: i was very wet. i felt slimy, still vertebrate but much more compact. with an abrupt and haunting realisation came the comprehension that i was, in fact, a fish. a cod, maybe. some kind of trout. and my memories started to change into instinct and now all i really want to do is find something to eat. maybe a grub or some worm or some moss or some coral or some sand or some plant matter i need to hide i need to .
