Nice game.

I like that this game is minimal in HUD elements, makes it feel the most immersive that it can be. Colors are dull, but I guess it makes sense in the end of story, but I like to see more games that are colorful, or just don't use grey and black. Could easily use very dark blue for example or something, idk, somebody could think more about the colors of stealth games. The game is dark, I think it's not that greatly balanced between the colors. Its very grey and black. Mechanic-wise and with everything that you can do in the game, it feels good. I like stealth games anyways somewhat. You can choose your way of playstyle, kill all or spare all, and can choose the path too. In many cases there are multiple ways of traversing the ground.

I don't understand why there are such expensive items in the game that cost 28 000, and the only way to have those items is to not buy any other items in the game. You have to save up your money to get that one item. Even when you get that item, the game is already over because you have been saving for that item.

Controls feel clunky for pc usage. In this game you play as a thief, so picking locks is a large part of the game and you have to use mouse for it which feels a bit off. Using a controller for lockpicking feels more nicer. Climbing ropes and watching through door keyholes slows down the mouse speed, which makes it worse for players with low sensitivity, so I played the game through with a controller. The former games have been made specifically for pc, so it's a shame.

I really have liked other stealth games that I have played, for example: Dishonored 1, Splinter Cell series (played all of them that are for consoles and pc), Deus ex HR and MD. So Thief was a good game I think. I like the fact that you can avoid so many fights, just by being in rooftops and being above the enemies, so you don't have to hump them while moving in a strict passage. There are good simple and few challenges for main missions that grant you money for next purchases. I don't really think that splinter cell games are any good. I have long thought that they were, because they were the first stealth games that I played. I would rank Thief higher than any splinter cell game. Splinter cell games (and most Ubisoft games) have many bugs that make the games unplayable. Thief didn't have any bugs in my experience. Controls were nice. A lot more room to work in, different nice scenarios of enemies, not just a guard that walks around.

I said that there are items (2) that cost 28 000 each but you shouldn't keep money unspent. I would advise to keep spending it always when you have it. Like many other games that have a looting system, you have to find all kinds of items in different places. So you don't want to run into a room that you can only pass forwards but the way you want to go is locked in front of you with some lock you can unlock with an item from the store. So to not have to go back to the shop ever again basically for to only come back again with a tool to go forwards. I suggest to buy the tools that have info on them that they don't give any upgrades because in themselves they are something unique and new, you cannot upgrade them afterwards and they are not an upgrade in themselves. And to remember to take any challenges, tasks and missions from that Borro-what's-his-name, because you don't have to return the missions back to him, like you have to do for the others, exception being main story line missions, no returning to them either, which is nice.

After that being said, you will have the most fun in this game that you could ever have. Me, myself, recommend this game. I think it's a lot of fun if you get it on sale like I did. Good stuff.

I enjoyed every moment spent in this game. The way they introduced new game mechanics was brilliant. First, you would start without anything but your movement with your joystick. Then you would play as you learned all the basic stuff. After a while you would get used to those basic movements. You could see these weird colored bricks laying around and wonder what they meant. You could clearly see there is some weird holes around the map, you can't surely fit in those. What is the reason for them being there? I really didn't care about those, but thought to myself, what would happen to me, as the player, so that I could fit in those holes. The holes were small and narrow paths leading to somewhere. I knew that I could reach those places at sometime, later in the game. Those colored bricks had some meaning too. I knew it. But I could only play the game and figure out that as the game progressed.

The melee moves blended nicely with the super attack moves. The fighting was versatile. You could grab the enemies and throw them back at themselves. I think this was too powerful move, but I only learned how big of a role it was until I was closing to the end of the game. The attacks had very nice combos aswell. You could basically combo everything what you had learned in the game previously. It was nice. Everything had its balance of course. Nothing too silly. Enemies and the ways they came were tough.

The platforming, jumping and puzzles were in my opinion very good. The puzzles were in the form of jumping in the right time and changing the dimensions which you could switch. You had multiple buttons you had to press simultaneously and in a clever order. It was hard at sometimes to figure what you had to do in a certain cituations. It was nice.

The game got good and fun story telling. There were tutorials hidden besides it. Everything went smoothly. I wasn't bored at any time. The game kept me moving the whole time. I beat the game again on hard difficulty and did all the steam achievements. It was a great game and haven't played those in a while.
