Lots of fun. I recommend playing the mode where you can accumulate science but there is no money restrictions.

I bought this because I want to support the genre. We haven't had a good top down environmental simulator since Sim Earth back in the 90s. The interface is clunky, but it's worth the price, and if they keep adding on more stuff it could be very deep. I have played primarily sandbox, and have been experimenting with getting civilizations to ascend or conquer the rest of the galaxy with the right attributes. It's diverting.

Really well done on release. Very polished with a few bugs but Paradox will clean them up fast. Some people may find the different playstyles offered to be a slog in the midgame, but it is classic Paradox engine. If you are looking to conquer the galaxy like in other 4x Grand Strats then the mid and end-game probably feel like hell. If you enjoy CK 2 and EU IV then you will enjoy the mid and end game a lot, it will seem a bit too fast with the current AI (though I am sure they will tighten it up.)
