Early Access -arvostelu
From Negative to Positive: A Journey of Improvement

Initially, my experience with this game was less than stellar. The developers released it in a rather lackluster state, leaving me disappointed. However, I’m pleased to report that they’ve been hard at work, diligently addressing issues and making significant improvements.

What’s Changed?

Bug Fixes: The laundry list of bugs that plagued my initial playthrough has been whittled down. Kudos to the devs for their diligence!
Performance Enhancements: The game now runs more smoothly, with fewer hiccups and stutters.
Gameplay Tweaks: Annoying mechanics have been ironed out, making the overall experience more enjoyable.
Community Engagement: The developers actively listened to player feedback, which is commendable. They’ve been churning out updates like clockwork.
Almost There: Graphics Options and More Content

The one bigger missing feature is the lack of comprehensive graphics options. But fear not! The devs have promised to address this soon—PROB tomorrow. Fingers crossed! =P

The dev team is also adding story content while they work hard on fixing bugs.

In summary, my initial negative review has transformed into a positive one. The dedication of the development team has won me over. Keep up the good work, and I eagerly await the upcoming graphics update and new content! 🎮👍

OLD Review
A promising game with some major flaws

Heartshot VR is a game with awesome potential, but it also has a lot of glaring issues. The main problem is the lack of game options, such as enabling grip instead of hold grab, or smooth turn instead of snap turn. I think these are basic features that should be available even in early access. I understand that this is the developer’s first attempt at a game, let alone a VR game, so I patiently wait for what is next to come.

As for the gameplay, I love it. The game has a great atmosphere, especially considering the graphics are PS1/2 style. The game manages to create a sense of realism despite the simple visuals. I also love the attachment system, which allows you to slap on different accessories to your weapons. It feels and looks great. The storytelling is pretty good too. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I won’t go into detail, but the game knows how to make you feel like a badass.

Another major thing is that if you are on Quest systems, you really need to run the game via Oculus Link, not Virtual Desktop. The hand offsets are really bad, and as I mentioned before, there are no options to change them.

Sadly, I have to say that I do not recommend this game as it is right now. I know the developers are counting on sales from the early access to help fund the game development. I hope they reach or get the funding they need, as they have lots of great ideas.

I will revise my review in a few months after some updates.

My Long Winded Arizona Sunshine 2 Review

After spending a solid 16 hours immersed in both Co-Op Hard mode and SP Hard/Apocalyptic mode, I've gathered my reflections on this game.

The gameplay presents a deeply satisfying experience, particularly with melee weapons that provide a visceral impact on each hit. However, the firearms feel lacking; while pistols carry visual appeal and realism, larger weapons seem somewhat cartoonish, an unusual aesthetic choice. Nevertheless, reloads are seamless, contributing to an overall great experience with no controller collisions during reloading.

In terms of gameplay mechanics, there's a striking resemblance to Arizon Sunshine 1 , albeit with subtle refinements over After The Fall. Yet, it's regrettable that After The Fall seems somewhat neglected, leaving a wish for a single-player add-on akin to a premium DLC instead of an entirely new game release. Despite the change in setting to the Arizona desert, those familiar with After The Fall will find familiarity in this game.

One noticeable deviation from its predecessor is the absence of the ATF holster system, a feature that could have added depth to the experience. Unfortunately, the game clings to the style of its predecessor. The price point of $50-60 feels a bit steep; a more reasonable range would be $30-40. Moreover, the deluxe version fails to live up to its name, lacking the promise of free DLC add-ons, a common feature in other deluxe editions.

Graphically, the game shines on my PC, running at max settings with minimal to no stutters on an i5-12600k paired with an RTX 3080. However, yet I do not get why VR game developers haven't incorporated hand animations for interacting with objects, a feature mastered by Half-Life Alyx. This absence of details is a missed opportunity, especially considering the premium pricing.

While it's very enjoyable, especially in multiplayer, the game falls short of justifying its premium cost, especially when compared to other titles like The Living Remain. The latter, developed by only two individuals, offers a similar length and feature set at a more reasonable price point. Toward the end of my playthrough, I encountered several bugs, though not game-breaking, they were noticeable. Additionally, a significant issue arose with the second player losing their ammo and building materials. Pointing to the crafting system, while a welcome addition, feels somewhat underdeveloped.

One of the main new highlights of the game is the addition of Buddy, the German Shepherd. This VR dog is incredibly realistic and became a highlight of my experience. The story around Buddy and the main protagonist presents unexpected twists and turns, offering a fulfilling ending akin to an interactive book. Buddy is, without a doubt, one of the best parts of this game.

In conclusion, this game delivers a fun and somewhat familiar experience, especially in cooperative play. The protagonist's voice work injects enthusiasm into the narrative. However, it falls short of delivering a truly premium experience, especially when considering the competition in the VR gaming market. If budget constraints are a concern, exploring alternatives like The Living Remain might be a prudent choice. Despite its shortcomings, the game manages to deliver an entertaining experience, albeit not without room for improvement. Do I recommend this game? Yes, but only when on a good sale! I'd pay $30-35 for Deluxe version. No more no less...

This dev is a true mad man! Since day one he has been throwing in update after update. Some small and rather nothing updates but some are game changing. Ive really enjoyed watching this game grow from a boring mobile phone game port to a true VR game. Cant wait to see whats next for this title and the other games they are working on. I love the new addition of the storage rooms & Raids. making this game more & more appealing for the people that finished Into The Radius looking for the next radiated game world to play through. I hope to see gas masks and maybe a trader for all the goodies we are finding. keep up the great work Dev.

Ghost of Tabor, an Early Access extraction shooter, draws inspiration from the popular 'Escape From Tarkov' (EFT) and showcases a well-crafted gaming experience. Primarily designed for PC and Mobile (Quest) platforms, its slightly above-average graphics present an impressive rendition of weapons, albeit with room for minor texture enhancements around the text imprints for a more immersive feel. However, in terms of world design, there's a noticeable disparity among them. While some worlds excel, others appear lacking—a consequence that seems tied to mobile optimization, possibly sacrificing detail for performance, understandable given its Early Access stage.

Where this game truly excels is in its weapon handling and sound design. Ghost of Tabor sets the benchmark for weapon handling, offering a tactile and weighty feel that adds to the immersive experience. Reload mechanics are notably impressive, lending a real-world sensation to the action. Some players, accustomed to arcade-style shooters, may find the weapon mechanics challenging initially. The weapon sounds are robust, delivering a satisfying punch that enhances the feeling of power with each shot.

Movement mechanics are executed with finesse, while ongoing work on health and healing systems is promising. It's crucial that these aspects don't become as convoluted as those in Tarkov. Ghost of Tabor strikes a balance between realism and entertainment, incorporating a weight system and bandages for injuries—elements that add depth without veering into excessive complexity. However, introducing items like limb scanners or tablets for addressing injuries might deter from the overall immersive experience and risk becoming more of a hassle than a compelling gameplay element. Many players, myself included, appreciate the game's simplicity compared to the intricacies of EFT.

In conclusion, Ghost of Tabor is on the right developmental trajectory, and I eagerly anticipate witnessing its evolution. I'll be closely following the development team's progress, anticipating each update and improvement they introduce.

The game shows potential, but it still requires further development. While I understand the challenges that small studios face, it might have been better to keep this game in Early Access (EA). Additional features are necessary to bring it up to modern standards, as it currently feels like a game from 2017.

Priced at $14.99, there are redeeming qualities, but room for improvement remains. When a game exits the EA phase, regardless of its price tag, it should ideally be feature-complete. My observation pertains to the current state of the game post-EA. Had it still been in the EA stage, my perspective might differ. I've awaited the full release to voice these concerns, as the issues I'm addressing haven't seen significant changes.

One essential feature lacking is manual reload, which I believe was promised for a future update. Additionally, the deagle suffers from missing textures, detracting from the overall experience. Two-handed weapon support is noticeably absent, which impacts immersion.

Furthermore, there have been reports of teleportation not functioning as intended within the story mode, signaling a need for refinement in this area.

In conclusion, while the game is priced reasonably at $14.99, its current status raises questions. Considering its exit from Early Access, it's fair to anticipate a higher degree of completeness. Acknowledging the potential improvements mentioned, I hope the development team takes these suggestions to heart to enhance the overall quality of the game.

Lastly, I'd like to emphasize that I'm not eager to leave a negative review for small companies. My opinion is open to change based on how the game evolves over time. I'll be keeping a close eye on its progress and development, hoping to see positive changes that can alter my perspective in the future.

Side note, I'd like to apologize for the length of this review, but I wanted to express my thoughts comprehensively. It's evident that I hold a genuine concern for the game's potential and the efforts of the development team. Despite the points raised, I am genuinely hopeful for the future of the game and the strides the team can make in enhancing its features and overall experience. Dont care what others say this was my most hated thing about this game. They fixed it!

Review from a Dedicated VR Gamer with Over 5,000 Hours (Mainly Shooters)

While I understand that this is an early access title, I believe that shouldn't serve as an excuse for gameplay reminiscent of the 2017 era.

I find myself quite disappointed by the gun mechanics. I can see the reasoning behind the chosen approach, considering the fast-paced arcade nature of the shooter. However, I'd appreciate the inclusion of a realistic weapon handling option right from the beginning, rather than waiting to introduce it later. It's somewhat perplexing how developers tend to overly guide us through the experience.

For enthusiasts of wave-based or story-driven shooters with a touch of cheesey story, this might just hit the spot. On the contrary, if you lean towards tactical gameplay, I'd advise you to steer very clear of this one.
