Early Access Review
This game is one of the best love/hate relationship games I've ever played.

I've spent hours perfecting the ultimate base, and a zombie - one lone, mindless, meandering zombie - trudges somehow past my defenses. That one little zombie inflicts a crucial bite on a citizen and wham, doomsday at its finest - the world is over. Somehow at the demise of my colony and my failure to save mankind, I cannot even fathom disliking this game. Each time I play it, it's like feeding an addiction; what did I do wrong last time, what new strategy can I adopt this time, how can I stem the zombie apocalypse?

If you've ever loved playing a good RTS where your skills are put to the test and one single mistake can mean the end of the world - literally - than this game is for you. You'll spend endless hours building up the greatest colony the world has ever seen only to be overwhelmed by a horde of mindless zombies out for blood. The kicker of it all is, it was your fault you failed. It's not that the game is to hard to beat, you just forgot that one gaurd tower, forgot to build more troops, or most importantly, forgot to place a soldier in your blind spot.

I highly recommend this game, but I also give you fair warning. Be prepared to think, you can't just run and gun this one.

Both one of the best and worst installments of the CoD Black Ops series. The gameplay is great, the action fast, and the customizability/reward based system fantastic. However, -At the time I write this review I have nearly 200 hours put into the game- they have horribly implemented a new lag compensation system (LCS) and quite a few bugs. To set the premise for my review, please understand that I am an FPS multiplayer gamer less than I am a singleplayer storyline player, this review pertains to the online multiplayer side.

This new LCS highly favors the incredibly lucky few who have outstanding ISP connections and those lucky random few who have horrid connections but gain the benefit of the compensation. Case in point, I use to play the game from a cellular hotspot connection (I had no other choice, don't judge) and I would achieve pings of 60-90 (100-130 ping when playing with friends from other locations, unless I hosted the party than it could hit 60-90) consistantly. When I played the multiplayer alone, I could easily dominate most of the other players, with the exception that someone with a 40 ping (give or take) or someone else with a 100+ ping was in the lobby; even worse when it was a combination of the two. Those games I would suffer immensely, players would shoot me before they rounded corners, I would get shot and die in locations I was not yet at (running towards) - oh did I mention, and this is purely from observation no offical proof; I believe they implemented a perdiction system into the game to offset those with slow ISP speeds, thus effectively placing you ahead of where you actually are in game, giving others with a slow connection a slight chance of combating someone else with a high speed, also as we are all far to aware of from older CoD installations (and the way lag really works) we would get the drop on someone effectively shooting them far before they knew we were there and no bullets would register or we would die in locations we were no longer at. All of which I have seen on many many different occasions.

Fast forward to the present, I now have a much much MUCH better internet (it is still not the fiber 1gig speeds that some players have) which I play on. The revolting part of it, I now experience a worse connection than when I played on the cellular connection. Instead it is uncommon for me to achieve a ping less than 80 playing solo; I often had better pings than that on the cellular connection. The most notable change is I now watch people warp across my screen at lightning speed, to fast for a normal or even fast reacting human to combat, and I am not slow. Oh, and when playing with friends I have a 110+ ping, even when I host the party. Those with uber connections (40 or less pings) and those with high pings (100+) still continue to roll right over me most games. Thus confirming (in my mind) this new LCS has some horrible flaws that the average gamer will not be able to overcome; only benefiting those who have the fortune or lack there of with their ISPs.

To sum it all up, the game is great if you like the singleplayer/co-op style games, for that I give it a 90/100, the zombies 80/100, but the multiplayer 50/100.

I would not recommend this game for the multiplayer gameplay at this time; at least not at its current value. Your $60 could be better spent somewhere else. Of course that oppinion is subject to change in the future as they release new patches/content.
