Amazingly addicting game, very fun progression and overall a great game to just pick up and play.

I've been holding off on reviewing this game until I reached 1k hours. Been playing this game since launch and it has objectively gotten better. Launch was rough though because they didn't have dedicated servers and it was p2p, which was the biggest mistake they've made imo. Constant dc's with migrating hosts while fighting was the biggest turn off, but it hasn't been an issue since the implementation of the dedicated servers which was a years or so ago. The game features a unique combat system that isn't available in any other game that I know of to this date. When I got the game on launch, it didn't have much of a tutorial system so everyone was basically going in blindly. Now they give you a really in depth tutorial on how to play and what mechanics there are, and a whole arena where you can test skills on each champ against a bot or have a bot attack you with a certain skill set of your choice to better your timings and such. Overall a better new player experience but still hard to get the grasp of. If you are genuinely new to the game you'll get your ass beat a lot because you're starting from the bottom with little knowledge on mechanics and other champ skills that other players already know about. I strongly suggest taking time in practice arena and learning the basic and advanced mechanics the combat system has to offer.

TLDR; Game is amazing, if you're genuinely new to the game you'll have a rough time getting used to mechanics, but once you get past the rough spot of being a new player, you'll have a better time. Do the practice arena it's one of your best utilities as a new player other than experience (getting your ass beat.)

Pros:

Amazing graphics
Amazing combat system
Amazing cosmetic items
Huge roster of heroes to choose from
No paywalled content other than early access heroes or battlepass (trust me you're not missing anything,) you can get all heroes simply by playing, along with their cosmetics.
Super cheap game for what it offers.

Cons:

Not new player friendly (expect to get beaten up a lot)
Sometimes the devs do some stupid ♥♥♥♥ that they shouldn't do (they usually fix it once they receive a lot of negative reactions from the community)
Love hate relationship (depends on perception, I love the game and rarely hate it more than I hate my teammates)
Slow on adding new content (would be great to get a new roster of maps for dominion and stuff every now and then)
All chat is disabled by default (you can enable it easily from the UI settings)
It's hard to get in a match for anything besides Dominion, Breach, Duels, and Brawls

Ignore the people who are complaining. Its legit free stuff, I have no idea how they can complain about that.

Beautiful and fun game

Played thousands of hours on oldrim and that was on console before I got introduced to modding. I bought oldrim on pc to start modding but then they announced Skyrim Special Edition and gave it to everyone that had oldrim on steam for free. Here I am almost 1k hours of time of this review, and I'm doing a modded run now so expect another 1k or so hours :)

Pros to getting this version over oldrim:

64bit
Can Alt+tab (this alone is what made me do the switch)
Since release a lot of mods from oldrim have portred over already so you don't have to worry about missing out
It's better more stable version of Skyrim

Cons in general:

Bethesda modding (I made this mistake, just use nexusmods and thank me later)
Might be too intensive for older pcs
Lydia keeps dying


Btw pls have a long and heated battle in the comments about which is objectively better, Stormcloaks or the Imperials

Played the game on console for the longest time. Did all the DLC and got to max lvl on multiple characters. Time to do it again on PC!
