it's aight. Be stupid and fun in the voice chat and useful to your team, and I guarantee it'll be entertaining. Some of my best times are from doing some squad leading on a server consistently and seeing the same people, or when an attack goes just right and it looks awesome.

(also don't be SL if you're new PLEASE)

You shouldn't have to link any outside accounts to play a game.

Edit: Sony changed their decision. Good on them. Game is very good also.

Cassandra giveth and Cassandra taketh away...

Fr though, this game rocks. Never have I been so interested in logistics and just survival. It's crack, I love it. I would choose this game as my only one if I was forced to. There's such a variety of play styles. Do you want to be a band of guerrilla fighters hiding in the mountains from the Man? You can. Do you want to run a holy order and crush those around you? Yep, you can. Do you want to be peaceful nudists and make friends? Of course. A lone man with machines to attend to your every need? Maybe commit atrocities to fill your food stores, or just please your people? Maybe just run a nice society and happy farmers? It gets so much zanier than I can do justice. If you're remotely into colony sims, this is up there as one of the greatest in my eyes and I would highly recommend.

Meh, it's fun sometimes but I never feel like anything I did was challenging or worthwhile. It takes a while to know what all the mechanics do, but it's all just an clever abstraction to make you feel like you're leading this empire, but really it's just map painting with some extra steps. The game could probably eliminate several mechanics and you'd be doing the same exact thing but with less clicking. Also, once you know what you're doing, there's very little chance you will struggle, except for maybe the first 10-30 years. After that, there's hardly any doubt that you'll win, it's only about how fast you want to win.

Not really my thing, but if you're into map painters, then you'll probably like it.

It just feels very shallow and sanitized. Nothing here pushed any boundaries, and it has a lot bad implementations for space game mechanics. It still has some fun, but I wish I could get $70 back so I could at least have the satisfaction of buying groceries.

Also who is this game designed for? Some of the quests (and this game) are just so braindead easy it's painful. Like one quest where I go to talk to someone but have an optional "read their diary" to talk to them better. Like why did you even tell me, it's so blatantly obvious that that's the right path. This game is just a linear game but I fast travel myself to all the little bits of lukewarm content.

And a few comments on space games, I love them. I want the genre to succeed and become more popular, but I think that means we need to move on from some not fun mechanics. For example, the FTL style power system is good in FTL only, but it's such a drag and makes no sense in virtually every other space game. Do you ever manage power in your car?? Why on a high tech space ship? It's a boring way to add complexity. And exploration tends to be done very poorly in most space games. You have almost anything you can think of, and you choose crappy alien wildlife and boring dead planets over and over again. What about dereltic ships and stations, space anomalies, etc?? There's a tiny bit of this but not nearly enough, and you are punished with flying by more load screens. And cowboys + space can be cool, but oh my God it is so over the top in this, it's just cringe. Like yea I get it, it's the wild West, but why does there have to be a cowboy planet? I like some light elements of it, but no need to beat me over the head with it for the sake of "Look Look it's cowboys! In space! Wow!!!!"

Finally, this game has a lot of issues that other reviewers have mentioned, like excessive loading screens, boring world building and ideas, inconsequential decisions, bad perk system, etc. My personal least favorite is managing the inventory though, which seems to be the majority of your time. I'm not against weight caps, but when it becomes detrimental to normal gameplay, it's a bit of a problem.

I just don't know what know what kind of design decisions leads to a game like this? Yea it's fun sometimes, but not really because it was particularly good with a quest or anything. It definitely does not deserve $70, and Bethesda should not be encouraged to continue this style of game/development. If you get it on a heavy sale, it might be worth it, but that just depends on what you want from it.

This is my go to game if I am stuck somewhere with a craptop. Occasionally, I'll even play it on my main PC because community made maps are pretty fun and the gameplay isn't that outdated compared to CSGO.
