I don't typically write reviews for games, but I feel like this one had a pretty harsh case of review bombing,so I'd like to do my part.

Early reviews really harped on two specific issues which have both been addressed by the devs. I won't bother explaining them - you can easily find them if you'd like. Suffice to say that there was an overreaction, and there have been some bad-faith assumptions made about some of the fixes that were made.

The current main issue I see people addressing is microtransactions. I agree that generally speaking, MTs are bad for the industry, but this game's pay model is no worse than the industry standard.

Gameplay as a whole feels great. The physics is a good combination of goofy and responsive. This is not a game to play competitively - it is a game for shenanigans, so don't expect tight and responsive controls. There is a good variety of game types, none of which seem particularly prone to griefing or cheese tactics. The maps remind me of playing Crash Bash (criminally underrated party game btw) as a kid. Character design is cute and fun, with good costumes / skins. Voice chat is a good addition, even if there are some rather annoying people on mic.

Definately worth the purchase, and would be even more so during a sale. The devs seem keen to support the game for some time in the future, which is always a plus. Eager to see what kind of content comes post-launch.
