In my youth I was accused of stealing a bike. I bought a wheelset off a dude on craigslist and some guy comes in to the hardware store I was working at and asks me where the rest of his bike was. I was speechless.

Told him I bought the wheels on craigslist and even showed them the email exchange. He shows me pics of his bike and sure as ♥♥♥♥ they're the exact same wheels down to the stickers on the rim and even the spoke mounted flashy lights.

I mean, I guess someone could have had that same set but chances of that same size, stickers, and flashy lights were pretty small in my mind so I took them offy bike and was like, yeah I guess they're probably yours since you had the pics right there and they're basically identical, and gave them to him.

He came back later that day and gave me $40 for the set. Said he was sorry for getting all up in arms but that he'd saved a long time for his bike. Said he didn't think I'd just give them over if I'd actually stolen them, which I hadn't.

Told him we'd just get a drink after work if that's cool and that's how I met future president Barack Obama.
