Genuinely the most toxic fanbase I've ever seen. Also every aspect of the game is a total grindfest-cashgrab that ends up making warframe look generous.

Haaaaaard pass

DOUBLE EDIT: this game sucks lol

review changed to negative again

EDIT: Had some trouble getting the game to actually run, but the third reinstallation seems to have done the trick. The game is phenomenal. I flat out hated the OG 2019 MW, But this one kicks ass. DMZ is also a fun addition (however its a little *too* easy).

Played this game on release on xbox years ago, Hated it.

Replayed it 5 years ago and actually beat it, hated it.

Got EA Play so I decided to pick it up again... hated it.

This game is the worst in the series, meaning I think this game is worse than Shift, Payback, and Heat.

Bad Physics, Supercar/Hypercar focus, absolutely dreadful soundtrack, Uninteresting map, Unskippable minute long tutorial videos that break up gameplay for the first 2 hours of the game, Easy races, Nonexistent story, and broken animations when you change the fps limit to a value beyond 45.

An utterly forgettable experience and a true stain on the franchise's history.

(Oh, and I have about 60 hours on Xbox, to those who will say "bUt yOu BaReLy PlAyEd iT?!?!?!!")

Yes, The other reviews are true, it is definitely the greatest First Person roleplaying game of all time.
I am going to be entirely honest, The game is VERY janky when compared to games of today's standards, But that does not mean you should not give it a chance. However, If you have the capacity to enjoy a great game with jank like Morrowind, then this game won't be too difficult to enjoy.

I am not someone that was around when this game released, I am actually quite young, So the first time I booted this game up years ago, I did not understand the mechanics, and died repeatedly in the first dungeon. I wanted to quit, but instead, I took the time to go online and learn how to play, and within 40 minutes, I was able to make it out of the dungeon without having to rest or reload once. It's honestly a very simple game, and isn't NEARLY as hard as it may seem at first.

The actual game contents itself blew me away. I am a longtime elder scrolls fan, But I never imagined a game of THIS scale. The game is huge, and is packed with thousands of NPCs. The combat, over time, gets easier was you level up attributes and skills, and become more experienced as a player overall. Sprites look great, base game overall has a charm to it that upsets me because I am too young to have been able to experience this game back in its peek. The music and sound effects are memorable and classic, albeit, a tad annoying sometimes... (Distant Tavern Music).

AND YES, THIS GAME HAS MOD SUPPORT. SORT OF. I WILL EXPLAIN BELOW SOON

HOWEVER...
This version that they put on steam is the inferior Bethesda launcher version. It has a Steam-San-Andreas-like reputation, and cannot be used with Daggerfall Unity, a helpful modernized highly moddable Daggerfall port that I would honestly recommend to new players more than this Dos version, despite the dos version being the OG experience. Daggerfall is freeware and this version can either be downloaded online (be careful when downloading stuff online), or acquired on GOG through some kind of procedure where you get tes 1 + tes 2 free on GoG if you buy some other game on their launcher. I do not know how to do it but there's probably a tutorial on youtube somewhere.

You can make this game look especially modern on Daggerfall Unity. I highly recommend using the DREAM mod on nexus plus Daggerfall enhanced sky. DREAM does a lot, like upscaling everything, revamping audio, and more. The enhanced sky removes the 2D sprite effect from the sky and gives it a legitimate skybox. Makes the game a tad less sickness inducing when travelling the overworld.

I hope this review convinces you to at least give this game a chance. As it is a chance well deserved, and I do believe you'll be pleasantly surprised with the level of quality this game brings. Well done 90s Bethesda, Well done indeed.

Y I K E S

This game REALLY sucks. (TL:DR at bottom)

Menu design is EXTREMELY store focused, very clearly a pay2win game. Even if you ignore that, The game has pretty terrible performance for such low fidelity graphics, Stuttered on my RTX build. Shooting feels clunky and bad. The Recoil sucks, and It does not help that the hitreg and hitboxes seem to also have a lot of problems. Also does not help that you have Slender 8 Pages walking speed. A lot of the Non-Special weapons have missing textures or aspects of the model that glitch out. The 3 maps I played were all very poorly designed and don't end up making logical sense. Game is also fairly dead in America, Typically ~4-8 people on at peak times.

I actually instantly came across a hacker when I finally got into my first game. A kind gentleman in chat actually let me know that some of the Devs cheat in their own game, and that there's been a massive hacking problem since release that has been totally ignored.

For a budget like the one they apparently had, I'm surprised at how many FPS essentials were totally missed. I feel like a game with this formula (minus the pay2win stuff) could work really well, But this one just does not.

TL:DR;
-Main menu design sucks
-Pay2win
-Bad performance
-Terrible shooting with slow walking
-Broken weapon models
-Poorly designed maps
-Game dead
-Devs cheat in it, ignored hacking problem
