First draw for me? A cat, and all the things thereto. Second draw? The gripping, emotional story. Seriously, if you aren't moved by this story, look within your chest because you may not have a heart. The soundtrack moves the story along eloquently. For those who have dealt with loss and pain, it may be a struggle to get through, but it certainly is relatable. Would highly recommend.

Coming from someone who's grown up with id Software shooters, I might be biased. I went into this game with two expectations: 1) That I would be playing B.J. Blazkowicz and 2) That I would be killing Nazis. Those two expectations were met from the get-go. However, this new timeline tickled my fancy, since it was alternate and it opened the door for a whole new set of happenings. The gameplay, fantastic. The story, equally so. Here's hoping a next installment of this game (and the upcoming DOOM release) are just as good, if not better.

Having played the original Shadow Warrior on the heels of Duke Nukem 3D back in the mid-to-late-90's, I was quite surprised to hear of this new incarnation. At the same time, I was skeptical, considering that I would be playing this latest incarnation on the heels of Duke Nukem Forever, which left me a bit disappointed. Suffice it to say, this reimagining of Shadow Warrior did not disappoint. 3D Realms has definitely recovered and learned from the mistakes of Duke Nukem Forever. The storyline was great and seemed lengthier than most in games these days, which ensures for longer gameplay and overall satisfaction. If you played the original or like a good shooter with a story, check this out.
