Taman Laut adalah kawasan yang dilindungi,biasanya untuk melindungi dan memulihara pelbagai habitat dan kehidupan marin akuatik. Sebanyak 42 pulau yang telah digazetkan Jabatan Taman Laut Malaysia. Pulau tersebut meliputi 13 perairan di Terengganu, sembilan perairan di Pahang, 13 perairan di Johor empat di Kedah dan tiga di Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan.

Taman laut diuruskan oleh Jabatan Taman Laut Malaysia, di bawah Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Alam Sekitar. Jabatan ini menubuh, mentadbir dan mengurus Taman-taman Laut Malaysia. Unit Taman Laut ditempatkan di tiap-tiap negeri yang mempunyai Taman Laut.
Mulai 16 Julai 2007, Seksyen Taman Laut menubuhkan Jabatan Taman Laut Malaysia dengan 154 kakitangan
