Great metroidvania with good level design and a Souls-esque map progression while also having a fluid combat system.
Good bosses and sadistically placed enemies who will frequently 1-2 shot you on Hard difficulty makes up for the relatively short playtime.

Definitely the best airship battle simulator out there. Easy to learn but a royal pain to master, especially considering the strongest gear in the 4-man crew is only as strong as the weakest part. So bring friends or regret not having friends, now more than usual!
There's something special about ramming your VIGOROUSLY BURNING airship filled with friendship and cooperation.....Into someone else's lonely vessel, filled with nothing but bots and that particular guy without friends who tries to keep the ship afloat by himself.

While being relatively simple, Ori is a great metroivania with great audiovisual design. What that makes it a joy to play is the fact that it hits alot of sweet-spots: The game is not very hard, but not too easy. Not too long, but has plenty of content for those who are willing to replay it or wanting to pursue extra goals. While being quite simple on the combat aspect, it makes up for it with some really interesting platforming mechanics, cultimating towards the end of the run. Does have a few pretty powerful story sequence, for those who look for such.

Oh, did I mention that it looks and sounds great?

While having the what seems to be the smallest variation of units and the straightforward map, Shogun 2 is probably the most polished and focused entry in the franchise. The seemingly small map might invoke claustrophobia in some people, but is ultimately instrumental for the game due to its ending objective. While quite polished out of the box, the game is heavily supported by its community, which provides the game with mods that can cure the majority of its setbacks.

Most likely the best version of Mario Kart that you'll find on the market right now.
You actually have to be good to win!
Crazy, I know.

A great-looking multi-camera angle Shmup with multiple tools of destruction, giving varied methods of tackling oppositions.
Generally quite forgiving in comparison to its peers of the same genre, but the highscore system gives you means to come back for more and there's always the Hard mode if you find the first run to be too simple.
And of course, I needn't remind that these games are best played with the 1CC mentality, so no touchie touchie on that continue screen.

The name is kinda contradicting the nature of this game, considering the game takes place in an alternate medieval universe where being 14 years old and next in line to the thone means your life expectancy is lower than a box of chocolate.
There are many ways to make your life easier(or way harder), but the most satisfying way is to become a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MAHOU SHOUJO.
Don't like that guy who looks at you in an uncomfortable way?
Burn him!
That dog is sleeping on your couch?
Incinerate it!
That grandma is blocking your way!?
Implode her!

So by that time, you'll realize that the other countries want you dead for a very good reason and they'll stop at nothing, trying to murder you with their greatest weapons: chocolates.

Not necessarily a game(Silly Valve), but still a very well made documentary.
A perfect reference material for you folks who wants to explain to your peers why you spend hours upon hours on the interwebs cursing strangers and detailing how you defiled their mothers.

A game that has aged finely and still offers the same fun, whether it is online or offline.
The addition of Steam mods enables you to have flying unicorns and rainbow-firing crocodiles that defies both modern and ancient mythologies because....Why the hell not??
