This game is really bad, really, really bad. It straight up does not function properly, the games revolves around building up momentum like Sonic but the acceleration and momentum is not implemented in to the game in a way that functions. You will arbitarily slow down, speed up illogically, go up on to walls inconsistently, fly in one direction, it is horrible. The level design is also full of cheaply placed obstacles and will glitch out and kill you because of what I assume are the heights the speed allows you to attain.

You know, it's funny, while this game did pretty much set the seeds for almost everything wrong with the Sonic series today Sonic Adventure is just such a fun and passionate game that I can't bring myself to dislike it. And when you get down to it, it does have fundamentally solid gameplay. The game probably isn't enjoyable for the first timer, because they'll be getting used to the game mechanics and not know where the hell to go in the hub worlds but for a veteran, this is one of the most fun 3D Sonic games there is. All the characters in the game are decent, Sonic and Knuckles steal the show in terms of gameplay but all the others are fast paced and the worst campaigns are by far the shortest. Installing the Dreamcast conversion mod only makes the game better.

I couldn\'t get in to this game much. I really did try to get in to this game. I shut the lights and possible distractions off and everything. It has some spooky atmosphere, but I was more conditioned by this game\'s disposition as a horror title rather than the atmosphere of the game itself. The light space you\'re confined to in a TV static-like darkness is pretty effective, and the ceiling\'s lack of visibility until you shine the flashlight upwards is an effective tool for creating paranoia, but you are never once actually required to look up at the ceiling from my experience. The story changes on your playthrough because of vague conditions and I have yet to figure it out. It is overall decent, but you really do need to play it several times over to fully understand what it\'s going for. Though, I got this game on sale for literally less than a dollar so I can not complain much I guess. This is a cautious recommendation.
