The remaster was necessary, I tried the old versions before and let me tell you it wasn't a great experience. These are still old games, if you played them as a Kid to give it a shoot.

Soul Reaver 1:
The first entry in the series has way more secrets and hidden spots (better game design) than the second one, and it feels generally more open. The most annoying part is the slow interaction with puzzle pieces. Prepare your self to move a lot of bricks around, the rest of the game is really great.

- Block Puzzle are just lame / not hard, just lame

Soul Reaver 2:
+ More cutscenes (they are too long for my taste and tell you almost nothing)
- A lot of the world feels recycled because you go back and forth in it.
- Saves are only possible at certain points (it was better in the first one)
- No teleports (it was better in the first one)

Would be a greate game without the PSN trash... stop forcing this on single player games. in my case black-screen and a browser opening some Sony website for 70 CHF... is this a joke - refund.

+ Does respect BG1/2 and fills in many gaps on some old characters
+ Graphics 10/10
+ Great game play overall
+ Perfect voice acting
+ So many option to choose from, in many different way

-- Negative --
- The Inventory feels cumbersome to mange, could be improved. A option to share items between characters which are not in your party would be great. It always a little hassle to switch between them and transfer items.
- There are some bugs mostly in act 3 a specially with the some characters quests (Order problems, not game breaking but, patches are needed)
- In "Last light inn" in Part two that broke a lot of options regarding Karlach's character, the Quest is still "running" in act 3 but the relevant character is already dead.. (Please fix)
- The underdark part was a little bit to short for my taste, would be great to have more content here
- Please fix vulkan, still seams like a mess on Windows/Proton alike
- Big issue with the "steam cloud saves" this is broken since the beginning, it does not detect any changes regarding any new save games. Regardless if you change anything in the save game folder, and there is no option to wipe all saves games from the steam cloud or a option to force a re-sync of the files.
- Sometimes when you start the game it will not detect your profile and it will start into a "debug profile" and all of your save games are missing. (Restart of the game, fixes it)

Git Gud! - Runs great on Linux, switch to "Proton Experimental"to play online

Dark Souls 2001 - great game

Best multiplayer shooter in 2021 - there is no other game which is more tense and nerve wracking. Needs a little bit of time to get the hang of it but worth it.

Just play it

Good:
+ PvP
+ Direct combat system (this is fun for at least 2 hours)
+ Crafting
+ You can buy a house (it doesn't do much, but i like that you can buy one)

Bad:
- No Story at all - One video at the beginning and some lame quest texts do not count as a story
- The Quests are: "Collect stuff / Click on stuff / Kill ten monsters" and so on not real change in higher levels. On a certain point you run out of quests so your leveling is slowed down and you have to start "the grind" with pointless activities, until it happens again just a few levels later.
- The world (most of the assets are just recycled and not very creative)
- Dungons (not much exp or items - so no real motivation)
- Fast travel restrictions, i mean sure it tries to create a "market" but your main activity in this game is running or just afk farming stuff. It's just to keep you longer in the game no real value there.
- Crafting: It could be nice but you get held back by the whole server if your "crafting tier" is not selected for a upgrade by other players

Final verdict:
- The hype about this game was real, but that's about it.
- Too generic to be remembered

+ Best Team-Shooter ever made
- Look's dated in 2020
- Still hackers around

+ I really like the world design, this could work
+ nice graphics (UE4 is a great engine for this)
- the combat system feels bad (please use dark souls as reference :) - that would fit perfectly)
- please don't explain everything this is insulting for every Gothic player
- i hope the dialogs are only for demo purposes, because in the current state that would ruin this remake, the strong language was one of the outstanding features of the original.

It's a good idea to bring back Gothic, but if you go down this path please work with the community and listen to every feedback you can get :)
