the songs are great. the game mechanics take some getting used to but it really stretches your brain in ways other games can't.

the zones feel really hard at first, but you have to keep trying at them! After some really good runs (where you end up dying), you can use the diamonds you found in the run to buy gear so that the runs get a little easier in the future. And you as you learn the enemies in a zone you'll get even further!

I haven't tried a lot of the bonus characters, but each of them change the dynamics of your runs! for example, the base character has to move to the beat of the song, but the bard doesn't have to do that! Normally your character would collect gold in item shops during the run, but if you play the monk, all the items in the shop are free, but if you pick up any gold in the game, you instantly die! And if I remember right,. there's another character that can't attack anything, but the door/stairs to the next level are always unlocked so you just have to get there!

There's only 4 levels to play, but each character makes the replayability of those zones massive. And its a lot of fun!

I just finished the story, and wow. Tacoma is a great game. Just like in Gone Home, Fullbright's previous game, the enticing aspect of Tacoma is learning the story of the setting you're in at whatever pace that suits you.

You're a contractor who sets out to recover data from what is now an abandoned space station, but in between large, time-consuming data transfers, you're exploring the station; unlocking various scenes which play out before you with Augmented Reality implants. You are given many opportunities to get to know the previous inhabitants of the station, and taking the time to meander through the conversations, the data logs, the letters, baubles, and wordless scenes is was makes this game come to life. It is well worth the ~3 hours it takes to play the game and become fully immersed in a futuristic world.

The puzzles take a back seat to the story, and don't hinder the natural progression of it at all. They were easier than in Gone Home, and the lack of clutter in a sterile space station makes it easier to spot items that could potentially be used to solve puzzles, or to learn a new thing about the world.

The voice acting was amazing. Some parts nearly brought me to tears. Some parts were fun and light-hearted. All of it made me feel. And that's all I ask for in a story.

Great game. Plenty of strategic diversity and depth, and enough luck to give new players an edge. Turns are short, and when it's not your turn, you can screw over other players and buff yourself. The cards are all ANIMATED, which is cool. The boards are random and you can buy pretty cool dice.

I get this weird sound issue where the stereo gets weird. So it's not the most stable game out there, but for a small dev team, this is a great game.

Multiplayer can fall a little flat since it's all quick-chat options, so multiplayer interaction is limited, unless you're on something like skype with your opponents.

7/10. Great game and mechanics, FANTASTIC artwork, lackluster execution.

UPDATE: Armello has since fixed my audio issues. It is pretty decent now. I love the newly introduced cards and the gameplay has gotten better.

9/10. Fantastic game... stiill missing the chat options
