INFORMATION IN THIS REVIEW IS BOUND TO BECOME OUT OF DATE AS THEY UPDATE THE GAME.

This game is a really good game to play with friends and some randoms. I personally recommend you play with friends as it will be easier to communicate with them and they will understand you more easily than randoms will.

The game receives regular Updates and Patch Notes so expect there to be one or the other every few days. The community is really fun to interact with and the Developers actually care what players have to say and are more than willing to listen to you and see how they can improve the game-play for their players.

Amour Talk
There is a plethora of ways to play the game and tons of different armour's with different stats to help you complete your missions. There is 3 types of armours Light, Medium or Heavy, each armour under these categories have different Armour Ratings, Speed, Stamina Regeneration, and passive abilities.

Armour listed under Light category can give you faster Running Speeds with high Stamina Regeneration whilst still giving different passive abilities. Like the SC-34 INFILTRATOR, it has a passive ability of SCOUT: Marker on the map will generate radar scans every 2.0s. And reduces range at which enemies can detect the wearer by 30%.
Whilst the FS-38 ERADICATOR is listed under Light Armour it still has the passive ability of FORTIFIED: Further reduces recoil when crouching or prone by 30%. And provides 50% resistance to explosive damage.

Then there are Medium Armours, like the armour you receive when you first start the game. The B-01 TACTICAL, most and if not all the Armour in the Medium category have the same Armour Rating, Speed and Stamina Regeneration but all have different types of passive abilities.

For example, the B-01 TACTICAL has the Passive Ability of EXTRA PADDING: Provides a Higher Armour Rating than a normal Medium Armour Provides.
Or the CM-09 BONESNAPPER, it has a Passive Ability of MED-KIT: Increases initial inventory and holding capacity of stims by +2. Increases stim effect duration by 2.0s.

Then there is the Heavy Armour category, it has some heavy duty armour designed for the Helldivers to take one hell of a beating and still be able to fight for the Super Earth.

For example there is the FS-05 MARKSMAN, it looks like a way beefier version of the B-01 TACTICAL. This one may have the FORTIFIED Passive Ability but when its on an Armour that can really take a beating it will begin to make more sense.
While there is the FS-61 DREADNOUGHT, it has a Passive Ability of SERVO-ASSISTED: Increases throwing range by 30%. And provides +50% limb health, meaning its harder to break your bones and need a stim.

Stratagems Talk
Stratagems are a ball with abilities you can use through-out your missions, whether it be to call in an SOS Beacon you get help from other Helldivers, a Reinforcement Beacon to call in fellow dead Helldivers in your squad, to call in special airstrikes, support weapons, or Turrets.

There are many different stratagems you can call in, but they require you to enter in specific arrow combinations which when running from an enemy can easily screw with a Helldiver.

Stratagems can be unlocked at different levels and Purchased for different amounts of Reputation Currency that you gain through different missions you partake in. These can be purchased under Stratagems in the Edit Ship area to the left of the Armoury.

  • Under Patriotic Administration Center there are a total of 9 Support Weapons you can Purchase and Unlock.
  • Under Orbital Cannons there are a total of 7 Stratagems you can Purchase and Unlock.
  • Under Hangar there are a total of 8 Stratagems you can Purchase and Unlock.
  • Under Bridge there are a total of 7 Stratagems you can Purchase and Unlock.
  • Under Engineering Bay there are a total of 9 Stratagems you can Purchase and Unlock.
  • Under Robotics Workshop there are a total of 7 Stratagems you can Purchase and Unlock.

Most of the categories above are self explanatory what they are but some other make not sense so i'll explain.
  • Patriotic Administration Center is for Support Weapons that the player can carry around in their 3rd slot and use to take out either large amounts of enemies or to take out one really tough to kill enemy.
  • Orbital Cannons contains airstrikes that go from one point of the beacon and either only targets that one specific point or it runs in a line.
  • Hangar contains stratagems that target a larger area and either does damage over time, damage all at once or gives you a chance to get away from the enemies.
  • Bridge stratagems contains a mix of many, there are stratagems that aim to target small areas, orbital strikes, a tower that acts like a turret, and things you put on to protect your self.
  • Engineering Bay contains 3 types. Mines, backpacks to support you, and 3 different support weapons.
  • Robotics Workshop contains turrets that can't move from where the beacon told them to land but they can rotate so expect to be shot by your own turret if your not careful. With the exception of 1 stratagem being one that follows you around on your back that's all.

    Ship Modules
There are many different ship modules that you can upgrade to help you on missions, though with every upgrade you will require even more samples and there are 3 types. Common Samples (green), Rare Samples (orange) and Super Samples (pink).

There is a total of 3 upgrades you can do per category, each being of the same names as the stratagem categories above. Each of the 3 upgrades in each of the categories benefit the stratagems in different ways, either from increasing damage all the way up to making them have almost no wait time till you can call it in again.
  • Patriotic Administration Center
  • Orbital Cannons
  • Hangar
  • Bridge
  • Engineering Bay
  • Robotics Workshop

    Weapons, Grenades & Boosters
Each Weapon has their own strengths and just like Armour there is 3 categories for what type of armour they can piercing through. Light, Medium, and Heavy.
    So far there are:
  • 12 different Light Armour piercing Weapons
  • 2 different Medium Armour piercing Weapons
  • And 0 Heavy Armour piercing Weapons so far.

As for the Weapon types there are secondary and Primary type Weapons.
Primary weapons go in your first slot or 1 by default and there are 6 different types and each has a different number of guns in them, they are:
  • Assault Rifles (3 Weapons)
  • Marksman Rifle (2 Weapons)
  • Sub-machine gun (2 Weapons)
  • Shotgun (5 Weapons)
  • Energy-based (2 Weapons)
  • Explosive (1 Weapons)

Whilst there is 1 secondary type in their menu there are actually 3, but due to there only being 3 secondary Weapons they display only 1 type, they are:
  • P-2 Peacemaker (pistol)
  • P-19 Redeemer (Sub-machine gun)
  • P-4 Senator (Revolver)

Then there are grenades, currently there are 2 types, standard and special. Despite one of them under standard and it should be under special the different grenades and their types are...
    Standard:
  • G-6 Frag (Explosive)
  • G-12 High Explosive (Explosive)
  • G-10 Incendiary (Incendiary)

    Special:
  • G-16 Impact (Impact)
  • G-3 Smoke (Smoke)

Then last but not least Boosters. Boosters are something a Helldiver can unlock through Acquisitions using their medals unlocked on missions they partake in or through player-wide contributions to fighting back the enemies.
So far there is 7 Boosters Helldivers can unlock and purchase with their medals. Boosters when equipped can either prevent injuries on missions, deploy in with max ammo, grenades and stims, or increase other things to help fight off the enemies more efficiently.

The game is very fun to play in your spare time on your own or with friends. If you ever need help with making specific item there is tons of help on YouTube and there is no end to the help from the community. As of this post I have played this game for 99 hours and I have had fun just trying to research different items and make new items to begin researching.

There is no main aim to the game other than having fun with what ever you want, you can make buildings, earn all the achievements or play with friends. I strongly recommend getting Terraria and It's a great game to play when you have exactly nothing to do and you just want to relax and play.
