I will try and help you. I suggest having another go at it if you want to get the full experience. Here's some stuff that could help you fix those problems.

The controls are easily changable, and it's instantly compatible with 360 and xbox one controllers. Thats all i have to say about that.

In order to get better matchmaking search in a couple of regions, not just one. Make sure the regions are fairly close by so your ping doesnt suffer, even though latency due to server distance is fairly minimal. The way the matches are made is that it slowly adds you to more ques the more time it takes, you start with the rookie que, and then it slowly widens the parrameters in order to make the match for you.

As for the graphics, I run a 2013 Dell Inspiron 15R with an integrated graphics set, 6 gigs of ram and a dual core i7. In order to accommodate these somewhat outdated specs there are two things you can do. One, you can decrease the render quality (the overall resolution of the render) with the click of a dropdown menu, and two, you can decrease the render detail (effects like high quality shaders and depth of field, togglable by either the drop down menu or the individual options in video settings). I personally run the render quality on high performance mode while running the detail on custom (car and world texture quality on high quality, depth of field, advanced shaders, and motion blur).

I understand that the game can make a bad first impressions, but I really love it, so much so that I've bought it for 4 of my other friends, including about $40 worth of dlc between them and I. It was hard for me to get a good match at the start too, but that was just because I was playing late at night in the last time zone of Oceania. This game has sucked up many hours of my gaming life, i've just passed 150 hours and I can't overstate how much I love this game. So much so that instead of sending an angry comment I decided to try and explain and fix your problems. If you head my words then good for you, if not then that's your choice.
