this is a great game with peak character designs (ToT) that really changed my life but holy crap nexon making it so difficult to connect your accounts and login i think im just going to play on my phone

[SPOILERS] By far the worst expansion to have ever been released. the whole draw of FFXIV compared to other MMO's is its story, but what do you do when that story is no longer good? The entire expansion's story is just a spotlight for one of the new characters, Wuk Lamat (she has the 3rd most lines spoken by ANY character throughout the base game and all expansions), and feels like a super long beach episode with everyone else but Erenville as unimportant background characters. Krile supposedly had a connection to the final part of the MSQ but it was cut insanely short in order to make more time for Wuk Lamat to shine.

Every little thing is a cutscene (there are 2 hrs worth of them in this expansion alone) and the big important things that should've been gameplay (like the invasion of Tulilloyal) were also cutscenes. This expansion plays like a visual novel for children and not an expansion to an MMORPG. We were promised a vacation from Square Enix but instead we got yet another rampaging villian gone mad showing us their lost world and trying to save it by destroying ours. (What Sphene did with Alexandria is literally the same as Emet-Selch and Meteion with the Source and Elpis)

The patch MSQ also doesn't help things by making Wuk Lamat's genius sibling, Koana, the supposed Albert Einstein of FFXIV, look like a complete idiot in order to give Wuk Lamat the chance to save him and make her look even better. This level of horrible writing is very unlike Square Enix, who we KNOW are capable of insane bangers like Heavensward and Shadowbringers. We should expect better and demand better.

fun with friends, having to start all over from lvl 1 and grind new characters to play different classes is kinda cringe tho
