50 hours and i only now finished my first very basic mission and played it.
Very fun game, tho i feel like the unit database isn't very accurate in some aspects, for example, Luxembourg has no units, facilities or whatsoever, despite all NATO E-3As being registered under the luxembourgish air force IRL.
And sometimes the AI isn't necessarily the most intelligent
Knows where the enemy F-15 Squad is, decides to turn around for some reason just to give the enemy squad a chance to fire at my units.

All in all a great tool to keep my ADHD entertained for prolonged periods of time, and keep me away from actual battlefields so i dont commit warcrimes IRL and instead drop nukes on the Hague here UwU
They cant prosecute you for warcrimes if they got warcrimed to begin with UwU

this game used to have a nice and working singleplayer mode

for some unknown reason they decided to scrap it, and replace it with some BS mode that is meant to immitate the normal online gamemode, albeit pretty badly, the bots either underwent lobotomies, or they turned into hackers that can shoot you through 20 walls with a pistol, these are the only difficulties to choose from.
that aside, that game mode is even more ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, as you dont even get the operators you unlocked to play
I have glaz, kali, and many other operators, but for the new solo mode, i get a completely different and random operator list, operators i never unlocked.

Like, come on, i hate online lobbies, i got social anxiety, the solo vs bots mode was the only thing keeping me playing this game, but you simply took that fun away from me, thanks i guess....

Bought this in december, and still no fix in sight for hotas incompatibility.
The editor works fine, just essentially unplayable if whatever you do with your hotas, the game keeps reading some fantasy inputs. Appearently my X axis input jumps constantly up to 65535, and the Y axis input down to 0 (as if i was pushing my joystick to the front right position) even if i keep moving it into other directions.
For a flight simulator made in the early 2000s, sure, modern hardware isnt always compatible, but this was released in december 2023.
The hotas i use is a winwing orion 2 set, so nothing too out of the ordinary.
Even ARMA 3, a game released 11 years ago now, has absolutely impecable winwing hotas integration, and i m pretty sure they just use a general api provided by the OS, and dont have to implement each hotas manually.

If that issue gets fixed, i ll gladly change my review to a positive one right away.

would recommend if you are into masochism

This game was literally my childhood, and i absolutely loved it

The only problems i see are, whenever the game is running, i cannot get out of it anymore unless i go to the main menu and click on "quit"

Another problem is, i dont know is this is a winwing joystick issue, but i was completely unable to remap ANY joystick buttons.
Pitch and roll luckily work out of the box, but it just refused to accept any button inputs.
No clue if this is cause it doesnt comprehend the like 40 different buttons and so on, but yea, somewhat dissapointing.

Do i recommend the game? obviously
Should you use a high end joystick for it? probably not

pretty fun game, especially with friends
its like dcs but not as indepth but still far more indepth than games like arma 3 for example
The vr aspect of it is also very good unlike dcs where you cant play the game in vr cause you spam activate every button you try to click
personally i really like this game, its pretty nice, has a lot of different types of weapon systems for all kinds of situations and it has a well working multiplayer aswell
Honestly i cant wait to see more planes being added and more missions to play ^^

The game in itself is nice and enjoyable, basically tarkov but actually enjoyable.
But, since season 2, i am unable to get through even 1 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ raid, each time i play dmz, (if i dont already get killed by some sweat) i get signed out mid game, lose my weapons i brought into the game and lose all fun there is to play this.


Edit : Amazing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gameplay, gets stuck in the loading screen while loading into the raid, losing all your equipment cause you now have to restart and the game has nothing in place to, idk, kill your character if you disconnect or some ♥♥♥♥ like other games, or let the player reconnect/rejoin the raid in a certain amount of time

Edit 2: So, the devs decided to "replace" the game now with MW3, so now if you want to play mw2, which you already paid for, you have to start up mw3, scroll down, select the mw2 gamemode, then accept that you want to launch mw2, and then wait for mw2 to launch so you can play the game. What a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke of a game design, only made to made to make you want to buy mw3..

The movement and implementation of vr into this title that didnt have vr in mind when it was made and so on is all in all pretty great
i only have a very few problems with it:

one being reloading the combine assault rifle, instead of the reloading just being the core being inserted into the barrel, you replace the entire magazine and no core moves at all, maybe something could be changed about that, maybe instead of replacing the whole mag, just manually replacing the core into the barrel

the reloading for the smg is a bit funky at times, like, the point where the mag inserts into the gun doesnt always work

driving the airboat and the car are terrible experiences. I personally dont suffer from motion sickness, but i feel like anyone who does, will throw up while trying to drive in less than 30 seconds. Despite not being affected by motion sickness, i did get a headache from it, probably due to the very fast movement. I understand that the vehicles behave the same way as in the original half life 2, but maybe you could try to implement a cleaner driving mechanic that is much smoother

That being said, i still think its an AWESOME mod, allowing one to relive part of their childhood but now in an even more immersive way.

TLDR Amazing mod for an amazing game, 10/10

nice game, i like the platformer aspect of it, its also quite challenging at some spots

Great game with a lot of functionality
I am a big fan of that you can automate nearly anything in this game, and the idea to implement a real world language for this (javascript)
The further you play, the more APIs you can unlock to automate more and more parts of the game, truly a fun experience for any programmer or anyone who wants to learn basic programming.
If you prefer python over javascript, go to your corner and feel ashamed of yourself
