I have been supporting the game via its Patreon and Itch.io for a hot minute. after playing about a good 46 hours (beta test and official release) I can definitely say the game is fun, but there are a few things that should be addressed that are somewhat concerning.

First off, presentation: The design of the game is fantastic, character customization is already off to a great start. As someone who is completely fine with NSFW or suggestive content, the character customization is great and definitely breaks away from what current AAA developers refuse to do and allow players to be expressive as possible. The look of the game definitely gives me that itch between a DreamCast PSO vibe with a hint is PSX-ism to it giving me that retro/nostalgia orgasm I haven't felt since the Sega Genesis (I'm a 90's kid).

Movement and exploration: Movement in this game is very snappy and very responsive to controls. I feel like I am in total control of my character wherever, whenever. Traversal is all on foot with some major locations allowing the player to instantly teleport to but not back, you do have the recall system that makes up for it which also drops a mini-portal similar to PSO with its warp-gates that allows you to return to a nearby similar location within reach of the goal youre trying to get to. All major locations have enemies that regularly spawn in but not much to interact to outside of a few merchant NPC locations.

Quests: The Game gives a lot of quest to give to its players, Angela gives out the majority of MAJOR quests while other nearby NPC's such as Sally and Enoc give optional quests. Angela also has optional quests for further EXP grinding, rewards and to unlock newer locations the further you progress in leveling up. Each location have plethora of quests to dive into that gives the reason to return to those locations meaningful. The hub or Sanctuary also have Skrit who lets you gamble away your money for higher tiers of drops and Vivian lets you enchant your gear. Sally is your major merchant, and Enoc is the guy that focuses on PvP stuff.

Combat: The game has 3 major classes, Mystic, Bandit, and Fighter. These classes are given to you when you've reach the first level cap of the game, level 10. You can pick between Angela, Sally, and Enoc to whoever will allow you to pick your class. Angela handles Mystic, Sally is Bandit, and Enoc is Fighter. You can also learn other class skills, but you cannot learn other class abilities as a balance for the game, so there is and isn't a true sub-class system. The more enemies you kill the more Stat points you use to increase your base stats, and Skill points to help further the strength of your skills. There IS an EXP cap to enemies, after you have Leveled up higher, enemy's health gauge will show their difficulty number in different shades of colors, Yellow for strong, Green for even, and Gray for easy. If the enemies number is in the gray the less likely hood enemies will attack you and you no longer gain EXP from grayed enemies. Green and Above are you focus for gaining EXP in the wild. Enemies in the Dungeon locations come in waves usually around 4-5 and come in small packs. The game does have a parry system which allows you to stun enemies temporarily and get a few hits in. Unfortunately due to how big enemies are and how they surround you, its sometimes very difficult to see what I need to parry as im being gang-banged by 2 Carbunckles, 2 Monoliths, and 4 Mushrooms all at the same time. The game should definitely decrease the size of the enemies or decrease the amount of enemies in each wave, If not down to 2 or 3 or just make it 1 and give it a lot of health and decent damage. I dont want the game to throw the entire kitchen inventory at my face and tell me to just eat it all without understanding whats being shoved down my throat. A simple decrease in size and enemy amount would make dungeons a lot more entertaining to deal with.

Now for the part of this review that some may agree or disagree with; the classes.
I play with a group of friends who all played all 3 different classes. The one class that needs help with the most is definitely Mystic. Mystic is a mage class that also is somewhat of a surrogate Support class. The problem is that Mystic is not that strong of a class given the fact that other races can learn the base abilities from other races such as Imps with Life Leech and the Changs with Sturdy in form of Scrolls which are dropped once your progress the game enough. Some scrolls should be tied to specific races and should not be available to all races and or classes; it defeates the purpose of having a Mystic around you when you can use Divine, Life Leech, and normal Health Regen to basically make you immortal. Mystics abilities also somewhat do something the other abilities within that class does making it feel you're actually repeating the same spell but with a different name on it. Mystic should also be scaling off of Mind or Dex all together and some spells if not most spells elemental or not, should be tied to Mystic only. I feel as if Mysitcs wasnt fully realized during development probably or maybe its not fully done yet, I dunno.

Bandit class is a very strong class with its ability to basically de-aggro enemies for a brief period allowing the player to heal themselves and even proc abilities to have near perfect survivability this class doesnt really have much faults. You can also gain double the amount of loot that other classes cant do and you can also use the aforementioned scrolls like Divine and Life Leech to basically secure near perfect dungeon runs.

Fighter is probably the tippy-top of the food chain and in my opinion, probably the strongest class. Rage allows the entire party to get a significant boost to almost all stats and can use scrolls as said previously allowing the player to basically be immortal and not die. Fighters have a very high survivability rate and can probably last the longest in bed more than 5 minutes or Angela's slap. Fighters definitely need to be rebalanced, Rage should be Fighters specific only for example and should properly scale off of Strength and Dexterity. But Fighter class feels like it IS the class to go with, with the ability to basically do what other classes can do, Fighters is definitely S-tier in my book.

With that all said, I wish I could say more about the classes as that would be a long-winded thing to type out. I honestly would recommend this game still. Regardless of combat hiccups, this game definitely feels promising, and since its still in early access, I'm pressure Kiseff will take into consideration of balance adjustments to all the classes and scrolls to give each class respective nerfs and buffs while keeping the game fun and enjoyable. And I cant wait to see the mods for this game that lets me increase tiddy size by x100 :)

If you like rolling at the speed of sound and got places to go and gotta follow your rainbow, this game is for you. Super Sami Roll is a fun and well-crafted game with challenging stages and full of customization options for Sami. Movement could have been improved but once you get used to the tight movement and turning while rolling, the game becomes comfortable to play. Great stage designs, music, and challenges to make you look for the most optimal routes to take. Though most stages are straight forward, finding faster ways to finish is the fun part of this game.

This game is so fantastic. Definitely loved the adventure I went on with this game. Only downside is that there is no real threat or bosses to encounter between all the areas except the first and last. Would have loved a slight bit of difficulty to the game, but the adventure and figuring out puzzles is what kept me glued to the game. Definitely made me ♥♥♥.

The game on a basic level is fun in short bursts. Unfortunately, the game lacks a lot of content and needs some improvements. The biggest issue is that the better version of this game is only available on Nintendo Switch, and its clearly obvious the devs have abandoned the other versions (Ps4/PC). The switch version removes the Gougi system and makes it closer to the original Fighting Layer game (mechanics such as Excel combos and guard crush). The game also needs to refine its strict timing on command inputs as well as needing balance adjustments.

No option to change training stages, Additional colors are locked behind DLC, and the lack of single player content only makes the game somewhat (as I said earlier) fun in short bursts. What IS good is that the game has a dedicated player base still and people still play the game though online Ranked Matches are scares. If you can gather up some friends to play, it can be a ton of fun. The games saving grace is that when playing online; its functional and feels great. At the end, if you own a Nintendo Switch, just play that version instead; Its called Fighting EX Layer: Another Dash.

Its obvious the devs are trying to get people to play the switch version, but at a cost of actually losing money and support from other platforms. If the devs truly cared about this game and want it to succeed, just update the other versions. Sadly, I wouldn't recommend buying this unless its upgraded to Another Dash.

Just got the update for Yatagarasu.

Pros: Single player is great with decent story, characters, movesets, and decent gameplay.

Cons: Online is mad garbage. I even downloaded the update for optinimzed online mode and I STILL cannot connect to lobbies. The game feels incomplete still, if Online mode is going to be added, then it needs to be ready and optimized before releasing the game. Otherwise I feel like I somewhat wasted my money on the game. Single player is great as I said, but online could have been way better at the start and would have kept me to continue playing this game rather than occasionally.

As of right now im half and half with this game. While the game is getting updates, single player modes are starting to get rather boring once you go through them for a good amount of time. And online mode is still not optimized as the developers say it is. If you're planning on getting this game, keep an eye out on the updates for GGPO and then buy the game..
