Look, if you want to have some mindless fun then this you can fool around it. It is, currently, not a game you can take seriously.

Immediate red flags that show dev inexperience/issues:

- VSync is on by default
- No mouse acceleration option in the menus (meaning, it was forced on)
- Multiple (3) game currencies, which all connect together back to premium currency. (Also, everything is expensive). Combined with a battle-pass. Typical of games you see coming from the east, or scummy corporations in the west.
- Anti-cheat that requires the game to run in admin-mode, and doesn't even stop people from texture modding the game (Lots of nude mods already lol)

Some more smaller red flags that become apparent as you play:

- The crosshair is not accurately lined up with attacks. You have to off-center for a lot of attacks.
- Once you select your character, the character select menu disappears. You have to deselect your character in order bring it back. This is bad, if you are wanting to contemplate your choices more easily as a team without accidentally giving up your character for someone else to pick.
- The feedback for damage taken isn't good enough. I don't know what it is about this game, but you really can't get a sense of "threat" for how much something just hit you. It's possible to get hit multiple times without even noticing you got hit, usually from behind.
- Balance is incredibly awful, and some ultimate balance choices have no place in a serious game. Many ultimates unavoidable, many ultimates that 1-shot, combined with...
- Ultimates don't stand out as much as other games like Overwatch (or Paladins). There is no sense of imminent threat from the audio cues, and sometimes you can't even tell if your team mate or your opponents are the ones who used an ultimate. Sometimes opponent ultimates speak English, sometimes they speak complete gibberish.

Last gripe I have with the game that isn't a big red flag for most people though:

- The victory/defeat screen lasts so damn long, and there is no way to shut the annoying announcer up. Seriously, who's idea was it to have some whiny-kid's voice be the announcer.

I don't understand how you go from Remnant 1 to Remnant 2, and the only thing that improves is the graphics (and I guess we get a free spell slot not built into our guns).

Serious red flags

I'd honestly prefer if they had kept the graphics looking bad like Remnant 1 if it meant the game was more stable and had better performance. The performance for this game is atrocious. My computer isn't some +$3000 PC but it runs a lot of games just fine at 1440p with +100 FPS and being pretty smooth. This game however, lots of stutters. It seems a lot of games these days want to rely on AI and frame generation non-sense.

Vertical Sync is on by default, huge red flag.

Mouse smoothing is forced on, you literally have to install mods from Nexusmods in order to be able to aim in this game. I am a serious FPS veteran and I could barely aim in this game until I installed mods. At least I can more reliably aim with the mod on, but the performance issues still make it difficult to be precise/quick.

The game literally does not let you access the options menu until you've created your character. I love loud blaring game audio and no way to do anything until I skip the first cinematic of the game. You typically see these stupid decisions made by bad programmers from Asia, or game devs who literally have no business being on PC and their experience with game development seems to be focused on consoles.

Another awful decision seen by bad programmers, sometimes from Asia, is the fact that you can't multiplayer until you've completed the tutorial(s). Meanwhile you are talking with your friends, waiting until the game finally lets you group up. It's incredibly annoying.

Lastly, finally got to play multiplayer with a friend. Their game literally crashed twice within 10 minutes and we decided to quit.

This is what happens when the general population isn't critical of game design/developers, and just gobbles up whatever is given to them. You end up with lower quality games, and a lot of times it's up to the community to fix the game for them.

Not worth it at the moment.

Not a lot of people playing, and you can't just load into a server like NMRIH 1 and just start playing by yourself. You have to wait anywhere between 1min - 4min for a match, and frankly, the game does not tell you anything. Also, you run into the same stupid design philosophy that is zombies are sponges and multiple hits to the head from a giant pipe doesn't kill them.

Game's performance is very bad, and movement controls and other actions don't feel very responsive at all.

Lastly, it feels like this game is being developed by people that don't play video games, or maybe they play them casually. Because there are so many signs:

- 144 FPS is the max you can "cap" your FPS (My dev, it is 2024 and 144hz are not the only high refresh rate monitors out there)
- Push To Talk is disabled by default, so open-mic for everyone.
- Mouse sensitivity options are terrible, if you have high DPI, better drop it down for this game.
- Mouse acceleration that can't be turned off it seems?
- Q to flashlight, F to shove.

I can not recommend this game until the devs balance some obvious problem characters. As well, if you seem to have any ping over 40, aiming in this game feels awful compared to other top-down shooters.

EDIT: Uninstalled the game. Tired of losing because the game seems to have a god-awful aiming system and it feels incredibly unresponsive.

Kind of like a game of chess, except, the devs seem to have their heads up theirs and take forever to make balance changes that are so clearly needed. If you manage to play games without OP units ruining everything then it's a pretty fun auto-battler. They use a LOT of rng to make every match feel different, which is great, but some units capabilities are definitely rng which can be very frustrating.

Also, has a lot of features that honestly take larger studios forever to implement (IE. rejoining if DC). Hopefully they start taking balance changes soon before everyone loses their minds.

Forewarnin, has a very big mtx in-game store already.

This game isn't too great right now. Runs very poorly, things are kind of all over the place. Also fails to explain certain things.

Game is good now. They brought back the jiggle.

------------------OLD
Not a lot of content, but will support a game like this for obvious reasons.

Controls feel a bit laggy, combat feels clunky. Jiggle physics got nerfed heavily apparently, never played the original. Overall, feels like a worse feeling, less content game than Bayonetta.

On map 1 after a cinematic I fell through the world, but haven't ran into that in a while.

EDIT: Want to add to my review about audio issues.

There is some audio clipping, cutting off. Audio is also sometimes unbalanced, and somehow some scenes are extremely quiet while some scenes are loud as hell. Sometimes gameplay audio spikes really loud as well. Be careful with headphones.

Good game I guess? Some weird things that make me things the developers might be inexperienced.

Joke game. Ignoring the obvious bait and switch 30$ "LeGeNdArY" edition. You have to wait 72 hours before being able to access the important features of your purchase. Only being allowed 1 slot by default means new players are screwed if they go with the wrong class.

There is no dodge/shuffle system. Enemies can reach farther than you can walk away in time. The "lighting" system in the game seems to do nothing against NPCs. No point turning off the lights. There is absolutely NO TUTORIAL for the game, and you might survive the entire dungeon and die to the "timer" mechanic because the game explains absolutely nothing to you about escaping the dungeon. NPCs will 3-4 shot you. Servers will randomly go down for maintenance without notice. If you pick certain classes, you can't block/parry attacks. Closing the game seems to also get the process stuck, requiring you to force exit Steam just to reset the game.

Overall a really bad game. Don't bother paying for the "LeGeNdArY" edition. The base game needs to have more sltos to allow people to make a better informed choice for purchasing especially since the game is extremely jarring to new players because it explains NOTHING.

Also, mouse sensitivity. Another game made by devs that don't understand high DPI.
