"PAYDAY 2" is the second game in the "heist family" from "Overkill", the first and second have similarities but don't mistaken it "PAYDAY 2" is one thing and "PAYDAY : The heist" is another thing though many may say the games are the same only the quality improved and etc'.
But i would say NO since you would see differences between the games since each game has it's own "Shine / Gem" as some may call it.

Though the games are "different" there are still some simillarities like the character and the concept of "robbing and killing"
Many may say :
•The game has same characters and concept since it is the "same" thing...
But NO! because it has different Missions / Ideas for each game.
Though you may say that so what if it has different missions it is still the same thing...
Again NO because if PAYDAY 2 was PAYDAY the heist it wouldn't have different missions and there wouldn't be PAYDAY 2 but instead only PAYDAY : The heist with all the dlc's and missions and everything...
but since there is PAYDAY 2 thus making PAYDAY 2 a game of its own.

Although I said that there is similarities between the two still there are some changes / differences between the two like the first thing you will notice is the fact that PAYDAY 2 has an Improved graphics while PAYDAY : The heist "kept" it's old "low quality" graphics (not to insult the game / creators but the game didn't decide to be at the "top" but prefers to stay it's old "classic" game which is really nice for those who are interested to see how it began).
The other change we see is that PAYDAY 2 has an easier to understand stuff (like what this tree does and what perk is that, that will not leave you hanging and think "well what do i do with that or how do i use it?") which is making you to adapt and get the "hang" of things faster and start enjoying the game experience as it is meant to.

In conclusion what i want to say is that PAYDAY 2 is different from PAYDAY : The heist (In my opinion) and that you should enjoy both of the games and i recommend you to download PAYDAY 2 and start Robbing banks / Mafias and the casino i personally really enjoy the game and i would rate it 10/10
