Firstly. The game works great on the Deck, even has an official control layout. Personally I think the game's easier there even, less likely to fumble spells or accidentally open doors too fast.

There also seems to be some difficulty with what I assume to be loading new scenes for the first time. Like entering a room for the first time or dying to a new hostile will usually take quite a bit longer to load. The game also crashed on me twice, once for each of the two things I mentioned earlier. The game will run perfectly fine and pretty fast too after that. Strangely enough, the final chapter ran the best for me.

Anyways, moving on from the technical stuff. The game has more content than the first, with one more chapter than the previous game, though I feel like this one is lacking in endings compared to the first one, mainly because you still do the same things to get each ending, just that you do one thing different. Though I guess it fits the theme of perseverance. I absolutely love all the characters though, each one real memorable and likable.

Also that ending.

EDIT:

Replayed the entire game from the start and cannot believe I did not even mention the final chapter's survival part. Big improvement compared to the first game in my opinion, beats flipping through pages and performing incantations multiple times. Also the re:dive was on my actual computer and it ran way better than the Deck, so there's that.

Works perfectly fine on the Deck.

Played a single short round in the middle of the night as of writing. Experience was nice, might expound after playing a bit more.

Way better and (a lot) longer than the version in the first Dread X collection. The pixels disagree with my eyes less, the gameplay feels smoother and I LOVE the FMV animations.

Also don't go into area past the vine wall near your room at the start the moment you get fireball, I think it jumps you to a later part of the game so you might not have all the necessary spells.

You're like a cockroach with a knife in this entry of the Monster hunter series.

The Wirebugs, Silkbinds and Switch Skills offer so much mobility the hunts are WILD. After a few hours with friends I'm not even that mad that there is no way to transfer your Switch data. Though I wish that "invader monsters" were actually terrifying again.

Rise has quite a few upgrades like switch skills, wirebugs and having Mizutsune but this one has a far more alive world that makes exploration more fun.

Edit: Went to actually compare the two and what I meant by a livelier locale was probably that World had tracking, lots endemic life that like to move around, more uneven terrain and I remembered that invaders are most of the time scary.

Trying to get the bad ending made me realize that the bad thing in the ending was me. Will not disappoint main character again.
