VERY Quick Review:
Runs smoothly on my PC (i9 13900K / RTX 4090 / 64GB DDR5 / 980 Pro SSD). Fixed an audio bug via file verification—no issues since.

PROS:

Cinematic: Intros, Victory screens, sword clashes, and dodge counters feel and look great.

Soul Breaks: Ultimates are slick and visually satisfying.

Unique Kits: Characters have distinct abilities that keep gameplay fresh.

CONS:

Roster Feels Thin: Wasted potential with picks like Kira—where’s Baraggan/Tenjiro/Jirobo? Needs Thousand-Year Blood War characters in the future.

No Crossplay: Limits multiplayer fun.

Stability: Lower end PCs are having stability issues (crashes, lag)—optimization needs work for weaker setups.

Start to finish, the main quest line is the best interactive cinematic piece of storytelling i have ever played, and i didnt even realize it until it was over

Pros:
The recent removal of loot restrictions has significantly enhanced my experience. I can now focus on stockpiling loot and currency at my own pace, which is a huge plus.

The gear score limit serves its purpose well, and is a fair approach to farming and PvP encounters.

Cons:
The race cosmetics, such as those for lycon and lizardmen, could benefit from a reduction in stats to preserve game balance.

Being restricted to one character slot in the free version feels limiting. Two character slots with no shared storage would feel better.

The acquisition of blue shards feels like a marathon and I believe the rate could be adjusted for a better flow.

For groups of 2 to 3 players, the game can feel punishing due to the limited group escapes, which could be reworked to encourage team play.

The trader access should be more inclusive, for instance, allowing free members to purchase items up to green quality, even if listing items is reserved for paid members.

Overall: Dark and Darker is still a fun game that offers a decent free-to-play experience.
