The game itself is fun and all, but it quickly loses its appeal with its lack of cars (without mods). However, even with mods there is still a very limited selection of cars, as the official mod community is inactive. Most mods are out-of-date or somewhat broken.

By itself, I would recommend this game ONLY if its on sale by a decent percent (at least 20% off).

HOWEVER:
Automation has breathed new life into this game. Basically, it is a really awesome car creation engine. Its cars can be imported into BeamNG.drive (as of a recent update).

WITH AUTOMATION IN HAND, I would recommend this game 100x over. Both games will set you back for about the same amount of money a AAA-game would ($54.98 or $24.99 + $29.99), but its definitely worthwhile with Automation and BeamNG.drive installed. You won't regret having both installed, I can promise you that. You could spend all day switching between these games and experimenting / creating the perfect cars.
