They pulled back their promise of adding new content to the game after 2 years(Northern Expansion DLC), under the guise of them "completing" their planned content, which is a lie. Furthermore, instead of adding future DLCs, they are planning on making another Three Kingdoms period game that is separate and for full price. Make no mistake, it will be the same game repackaged in a different scenario for another $60. Don't buy this or any future "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" games.

TL;DR The game has many unique features that other Naruto games lack and has many satisfying parts of it's gameplay loop. However, the game suffers from poor map variety, DLC locked moves(although inexpensive), and a clothing system that could be reworked to allow more accessibility.

!! BUY THE GAME + DLCs ON SALE !!

This game has given me many fun filled hours, many opportunities to make new friends, and checks many boxes I wish were in other Naruto games. As long as you're running a decent PC, you will encounter little or no graphical or technical issues.
The customization in the game is great, allowing you to truly craft a character you love in the series or one of your own, although it could use some more options when it comes to body sizes and facial features(for example, there are only 2-3 beards).
The combat is satisfying to take part in, and you really feel some accomplishment when you learn how to consistently make combos with each of the classes unique weapons. There is a great variety of jutsu you can use, unfortunately many of them are locked behind DLCs, although inexpensive. The developers try to balance each move to make them useable, but be aware that not all of them will be best.
The Map variety is very small, consisting of only 4 maps for teammodes, and only 1 for the free for all gamemode. There isn't really anything special about the maps either, so they come off as boring and non-substantial.
Finally, the clothing system could use some work. Many of the more unique outfits are locked behind rewards for participating in prior leagues, many of which take a long time to reappear. While this keeps certain outfits and items rare, it leads many to mod their characters to unlock everything in the game(alongside set them at the max level, which doesn't give any benefits, but still takes away the reward of getting there yourself).

As a final note: Hackers are currently a problem in the game. While modders give themselves all the items, it ultimately doesn't hurt anyone. Hackers, on the other hand ruin the game for everyone and actively make people not want to play the game. The developers have done precious little to contain it, and I'm not sure how far they will go to defend against it in the future. All we can do is wait for them to get bored and report them.

TL;DR 8/10, Fun gameplay, Amazing story aspect for classes, Meh subscriber system that locks some valuable assets for f2p players.
------------------
I've been playing this game on and off for years. It has some of the most story rich and pleasing class-storylines of any game I've played. It makes you feel like the answers you choose make a difference in how characters treat you in the future, that is if your choice doesn't result in their death. The expansions are also a blast, however you will find less of a variety here among the class stories besides the companions you rediscover over the story(with their equally diverse reactions depending on your actions in the past). Collecting gear for cosmetics is also a fun past time, as changing up your looks every now and then can really make the gameplay more pleasing, at least in my opinion.

There are some downsides with the subscriber system in that it does lock you from access some high rarity(artifact) gear that can have some really good stats, which is a bummer. However if you were wearing a set of [artifact]gear and your subscription runs out, you are allowed to keep using it for however long you please, even to continue updating the mods in it to get yourself stronger, which is a plus despite the restriction. There is also a maximum amount of money you can have with a f2p account, 1 million credits, and while it is a decent chunk of money which is able to buy you a good amount of stuff, it still prevents you from getting a lot of the rarer armor sets on the player market since they tend to sell for 10m+, depending on the popularity(and drop rate) of said set.

This is possibly the best Total War title in my opinion. I think so because of it's unique (and in dire need of return) Avatar Conquest Multiplayer and replayability in it's campaigns. Each clan has it's own strength, and furthermore have different advantages when it comes to taking over the world map, whether it be through diplomacy, assassination, or all out Total War.
Even though it lacks in the department of the modding community, not to the mod authors, but the resources they are given to work with and their ability with those resources to change the game.
I have not encountered a single hacker in all my time playing over the past couple of years, and i can say that the people who play this game often can be very hepful to new players, especially when it comes to composition of the Shogun 2 Armies and Fall of the Samurai Armies in muitplayer. If you like Total War, or any RTS, you should definitely check out this title, it has a lot to offer!

The game initially advertised on the fact that it had a COOP function inwhich you could strategize with friends, however after a recent patch (and after a year of radio silence) it now seems that they removed the function because of it's lack of functionality and after no attempts to fix it or take user feedback.
Additionally, the game was left unupdated with major bugs and no communication with the community for close to a year, however recently they released a 'patch' that supposedly fixed many bugs. After redownloading this, I found that those bugs had not been fixed nor anything added or improved upon. It is unacceptable that the developers would release a game with COOP as a primary feature, remove it, and not fix the game.
Clearly they did not have intentions to follow through with this game and screwed the community.

Don't buy this, even on sale for $1.49.

NOT PAY2WIN ANYMORE.

Really fun game with friends, and you can easily progress only needing basic FPS skills. I'd reccomend this game for co-op with friends however the multiplayer is very lack luster comprising of multiple maps but only fairly generic game modes (TDM, Domination, etc) and you will need to be pretty decent at any sort of FPS, or have experience, to compete with the higher level people once out of the beginner bracket (around level 8-9 is when you join the next bracket of players).

Play the game, see if you like it, it's all your personal opinion. Just don't say the game is bad because you can't hit someone sliding....

Early Access Review
If you are a Kingdom Wars fan or hell, even an Old School RTS fan i strongly recommend to try this out.
First, I Alpha tested this game and i am proud to say the developers are very responsive to bugs and happily accept suggestons from all users
Secondly, this game (so far as its in beta now) Irons out most of the bugs on Kingdom Wars 1 and other RPG's such as the "Out of Sync" issue with multiplayer games such as this. The old school economy system also brings back nostalgia from older RTS's namly Age of Empires.
Thirdly, The Community. The community is made up of a lot of old school players who could relate to old times and also are friendly with new players.
Anyway if your a fan of RTS's or maybe even just like RTS's than this is definitley a good choice to try out with responsive devs, nostalgic economy system and general gameplay, and great community willing to help out!

To be Honest, most of the reviews on this game are unfair. When you first log in to the starting area there is a woman you speak to start the tutorial quests (which will take around 30-45 minutes and reward you with around 25k and some weapons) because of this game hitting steam there has been a substanial increase in new players and most of the time people are crowded around the starting quest giver. When people say this game is confusing and they couldnt find the tutorial quests its becuase:
1.) They didnt look hard enough for the quest giver
2.) If they did do the quests, they didnt read them. All the dialogues are VERY IMPORTANT! They teach you how to do almost everything meaningful about the game such as getting chemicals, mining, getting skills to use certain items, ect.

Also, Devs dont punch into random situations as stated in many other Reviews. Developers have nothing to do with promoting faction leaders, only people within the faction can vote to change this! The only instance that a dev can actually change the leader if he/she is abusive toward its own faction and is hurting the community (ganking[Klling lesser experienced people] everyone on sight, stealing money, ect)

Premium membership is not in anyway a HUGE advantage, it lets some people make things faster or have more durability on implants (buffing items of sorts)sure, but in no way is this gonna kill off the free players.

Some game factors can be a deal breaker for you and thats ok, not everyone likes this type of play but if you find anything intersting about this id say give it a swing it might be worth your time.
