《侠盗猎车手5》是由Rockstar North工作室开发制作、Rockstar Games出版发行的一款围绕犯罪为主题的开放式视频游戏，单人模式中有三位主角，玩者可在三人之间自由切换操控。故事发生在以美国洛杉矶及其周边地区为原型的城市洛圣都，是基于现实地区中的洛杉矶和南加州而制作。制作方拍摄了超过25万张相关照片，并且研究了人口数据和汽车销售数据，以建立游戏中的世界。《侠盗猎车手5》采用新版雷霆引擎（RAGE引擎），已于2013年9月17日登陆PlayStation 3和Xbox 360平台，PC版与2015年4月14日发行。《侠盗猎车手5》发售后的首日便达到8亿美元的销售额，3天内突破了10亿美元大关，前六周销售量已超过2900万份，刷新了电子游戏的最快销售纪录及诸多娱乐产品的收益纪录。
