This game essentially combines the combat from 'FTL: Faster Than Light' along with mobile game progression mechanics. This is honestly not a bad thing, and strangely works quite well.

That said, the P2W elements and the awful UI makes this game unplayable unless you're looking for something to swipe your credit card at. There are many games who have done P2W where it is digestible for anyone who is F2P, but in Pixel Starships there are too many opportunities for P2W that gives you too much of a power spike to make this game interesting as F2P beyond the first few days of progression.
