Wanted to point out some content that hasn't been touched on in many reviews up to this point. The lobbies, this game is amazing to actually play. The fights are wonderful and I am very impressed with the new content that was added in. But this lobby system is a living hell, load times to even get into a lobby can take 5-10 minutes and then you can find out you can't match on any machines. The networking for anything outside of fights is terrible and needs a fix ASAP. There are no private lobbies, any and all "private" lobbies can be joined by any players, if you are looking to set one up that is actually secure you have to travel to reddit and follow a guide.

Overall game is fun but like please the lobbies need a fix or this ♥♥♥♥ will be rendered almost unplayable.

Gonna be 100% with you chief, game is god tier. It has a lot more customization with a very good weapon sandbox. The titan customization is god tier even though there's a god meta. If the servers worked I would 100% be playing this over the sequel. It's just a much more interesting title with most post Gen 1 content. The addition of burn cards, better titan weapons, and overall a much better movement feel makes this title in my eyes surpass the sequel in almost every regard.

Titans: Although limited to 3 types of titans the weapon sandbox for these beasts as well as the pure addition of addons to the titans makes them way more unique and much strong choices than that of the set class system of titanfall 2. Things like the ARC cannon are good for groups whilst things like the XO-16 and 40mm are just melters close up. The fact that you can have a sniper tank or a fast moving close range specialist that isn't limited by having a 4 round shotgun is so much of a better feel. You even have weapons for the titans that make little sense on paper but are a pure joy to play with like the triple threat. I hope in future titles for titanfall a return to form from apex and TF 2 is had so more people can enjoy building their own titans or experimenting with much more "anti-meta" builds.

Pilots: Although not much in terms of specialization you can clearly see where TF2 had drawn inspiration for many of their classes and boosts. So much of the titanfall meta is being fast, using the right weapon, and dropping quick. This however in titanfall 1 means the R-101 or the smart pistol in terms of your pilots preferred weapons. As much as I like to hark on tf2 for having a bit less in terms of variety when it comes to the pilots, this problem is completely solved by the burn cards in titanfall 1. Instead of coming into the match with a thought out boost plan so you do the same crap over and over again and spam batteries on your titan. With titanfall 1 your titan is something that can be influenced by what your pilot brings in whether that means just dropping it as soon as humanly possible or getting the right weapon burn cards to just make pilots trying to get to their titans a living nightmare.

Final thoughts: EA seemingly for the most part has abandoned this titan without any hope for many of the fans to see the servers back up, however, hope still remains. Many folks are asking if not begging EA to allow for people to host their own TF1 servers in a hope to allow for us to once again play this absolute mater piece. I hope that day comes soon, many hundreds if not thousands of folks are incredibly eager and wanting to play this game with EA and respawn being able to make millions off of the title coming to steam and they just screwed themselves. God only knows when we will be able to set servers up for ourselves but until that day just contact EA or respawn question their twitter and make sure popular creators know about this. If COD can keep servers up or have servers running for games older than kids in middle school EA can surely do the same if not better.

Updated portion: So after playing the game a bit more when it does go up and with the game servers being closed now for what seems like repairs, I have been reminded that my review lacked one piece of content. The community of the game right now or more or less what remains of it. Yeah there's a fairly decent sized group of people who want this game to come back but the primary discord and groups on reddit that deal with this game as of recently have been quite welcoming. It's pretty open minded but be prepared for a lot of pushing some weird stuff. So if your wanting to play the game once its live again or learn I would highly suggest finding a discord or group for the game.

Update 2: Rather recently the game has been going up in small bursts or for a day or two at a time. Many communities surrounding the game go a bit ape when the game is up for brief periods of time so if you do end up finding a match fully expect furries and or a hacker or two.
