I enjoy being unemployed, but I feel that having to encounter other people's ideas is almost as bad as having to interact with them physically. Outside ideas are ghastly and fetid. The more you grapple with them the more they enslime you until you are the most wretched creature in existence.

But I've found ways of mitigating this. Just as an example, I've used uBlock Origin to hide all the images and banners on this site. I find it galling to encounter foreign imagery (that which is created by others). Photos are slightly okay since they are a snapshot of the natural world, but I find art of any kinds unbearable-- it's too much another person's interpretation of things--viewing such images will leave me unclean with mind grime. Those wrinkles in your brain are awfully good at catching dust.

Essentially what I'm trying to do is cultivate a pure sensibility. This requires getting rid of all heterodox thinking. True art is more about what you cut out than what you let in.
