Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas was an iOS game ported to PC. This game pays homage to the Legend of Zelda series, specifically to Majora's Mask, Windwaker, and A Link to the Past. To me this game felt like it was a love letter to the LoZ series, a game that brings the same feeling with it's gameplay and great music, not on par with LoZ's music but something that you can listen to hours on end without getting annoyed. Though my hours on this version of the game says 2.1 hours, as of writing this review, I have already beaten this game on iOS and it was really fun to play on both versions each with their own good parts and bad parts.

The story for Oceanhorn is fairly straight forward, a big sea monster known as "Oceanhorn" has come to your island and your dad goes to fight against it while you sleep. As you awake you're left alone with your mother's pendant, that acts kind of like a guide, and you're off on your journey to fight against Oceanorn on your little boat, just like in Windwaker.

Though this game doesn't hold your hand and guide you through the game telling you which way to go, you're encouraged to explore around the different islands that you discover and sail to. You'll find interesting inhabitants, vast dungeons and enemies with their own unique design, though still looking very similar to their LoZ counterparts.

With just your sword and shield you'll fight off interesting bosses and solve some puzzles along the way. Now onto the controls, I highly recommend playing this with a controller, you can play with a keyboard just fine it's just gonna take a lil' while to get adjusted. The controls are a little loose but nothing too bad, especially noting that this was an iOS port, and the camera controls are a bit unnecessary since there is no use for it, especially since there is very little movement when you do move it.

The game itself has you fight off rather easy bosses, where you rarely take any damage, solve fairly simple puzzles and collect four elemental powers. Thought the gameplay doesn't have anything that really jumps out at you the islands make up for it with it's rich design making them immersive and best of all fun to explore. Sailing though is a bit of a let down, clicking on where you want to go without any controls, other than the gun that you fire later on in the game, but at least the amazing soundtrack helps pass the time while you sail from one island to another.

Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas is a great and fun game to play, though it can be a bit too easy from time to time it's still something that I would recommend for someone to buy. As of writing this review Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas is on available for $16.99CAD, about $13-$14 USD, and if you're planning on buying it I would say to wait until it's on sale for $10-$12CAD, $7-$9 USD.
7.5/10 Great for a rainy day when you want to lounge around and play a relaxing game.
