Probably the best FPS I've played in a long time for one primary reason - fun. This game doesn't take itself too seriously (though the story is genuinely quite interesting), and it knows that it is ridiculous in the good sense of the word. And this is what makes it so great to play; everything is fast paced, violent and frantic, but all so much fun. Movement feels so fluid, shooting is immensely satisfying with the demons falling to pieces as you take shots at them which gives a nice bit of visual feedback to how much damage you are doing. Runs on the whole very smoothly on my now slightly older gaming laptop so it seems well optimised. Levels are crammed full of secrets, challenges and interesting lore, all of which I loved exploring and fully completing. I will definitely be coming back to replay this soon as the fights are just so satisfying. In my opinion, this is a better game than DOOM 2016, though I do love them both. Do yourself a favour and buy this title if you are looking for a new game to play.
