Oh man, every time I get to the first boss I get a little further before dying. A constant reminder that I should not have started on the hardest difficulty, because that's like a 20 minute setback if I want to try again.

I really enjoyed making my friend play through this and almost cry in fear.

It's understandable to have some distaste for it considering the circumstances, but it is still competent co-op game in its own right. Although some interesting decisions were made for the game, it is interesting and enjoyable to explore the game, but the main draw is the co-op component. Wave based Defense that is fast paced and sometimes even heart pounding to a newcomer.

It's an odd one to be sure, but I enjoyed it.

I am one of the people who believe that Dark Souls 2 is a good entry into the Dark Souls series. I have played this game a respectable amount, not including the 200 hours I have played on the original game. Although the starting areas have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ a little tiring after replaying them several times, I can never praise the DLC included in this game enough. Me and my friend always enjoy delving into the dark miasma, or exploring the frozen town over and over again.

You can see how much the team who made DS2 learned from their experience, implementing their knowledge into the base game by adding interesting summons to the non-DLC areas, and it makes the game better for it.

Ultimately, DS2:SotFS is a lesson in learning from your mistakes, both the developers and you. If they can kick their own butts to better the game, you can kick your own to beat it, no matter how hard it gets.

I have a problem with this game, and it is the fact that I keep coming back to it. Not because I like it mind you, but because I keep forgetting what I don't like about it. The game has its flaws, but the amount of fun I have with it, by myself or with my friends far outshine the difficulties I have with it.

Would play a game inside the game for 30 hours again.

With the addition of micro-transactions this game has went from at least ok to "Do not Play". This update was supposed to be part of free updates included in crimefest 2, but what part of microtransactions is free? Especialy after Almir himself said that there would be no microtransactions, this not ok, but the things you pay money for modify your stats in-game. The only reason I am ok with Valve and their Crate and key system, is because TF2 is free to play and the items you get are more side-grades than anything else. I used to like this game, I even pre-ordered it, but as of now, Avoid like the plague.

In light of the update that removes the microtransactions (thanks wolf/ulf) in which was probably a result of such overwhelming hate, my reccomendation is still no, but only barely. Keep an eye on this game, if only to make sure no one repeats this mistake.

The story mode is not the main draw to this game. The only mode you need to worry about is the Arena, where you play as Gluteus Exterminatore, and in co-op, with Braccae Videntis, and follow them on their quest for pants. You start with very little clothing, barely more than a towel for your genitals and a mask to cover your face, but after a long time Destroying People in the arena, you slowly rank up and gain the ability to wear shoulder pads and a belt. I have only ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to the skirt phase, but I am sure if I keep on destroying my enemies in bloody combat I am sure to gain enough fame to wear skinny jeans.

I beat people with a broken ladle. Half of them fought back with a broken ladle. 10/10 Super hardcore, would ladle again.
