ABOUT Jack Churchill / Simo Häyhä Appreciation Group

Jack Churchill and Simo Häyhä - Two WW2 Heroes and total badasses. Here is their Background:

Simo Häyhä, AKA "White Death"-
Häyhä was a farmer and hunter. At the age of 20, he joined the Finnish militia suojeluskunta and succeeded with his sniping skills in shooting sports in Viipuri province. His farmhouse was reportedly full of trophies for marksmanship
Nicknamed "White Death" by the Red Army,he was a Finnish sniper. Using a modified Mosin–Nagant in the Winter War, he has the highest recorded number of confirmed sniper kills – 505 – in any major war. Furthermore, he has a total confirmed kill record of at least 705, as he is credited for at least 200 more kills with a Suomi 9mm submachine gun. All of these kills occurred within 100 days.
On March 6, 1940, Häyhä was shot in his lower left jaw by a Russian soldier during combat. The bullet had an explosive charge which blew off his lower left cheek.
It took several years for Häyhä to recuperate from his wound. The bullet had crushed his jaw and blown off his left cheek. Nonetheless, he made a full recovery and became a successful moose hunter and dog breeder after World War II, and hunted with Finnish President Urho Kekkonen.
]When asked in 1998 how he had become such a good shooter, Häyhä answered "Practice." When asked if he regretted killing so many people, he said, "I only did my duty, and what I was told to do, as well as I could."

Jack Churchill, AKA "Mad Jack":
Lieutenant Colonel John Malcolm Thorpe Fleming "Jack" Churchill, nicknamed Fighting Jack Churchill and Mad Jack, was a British soldier who fought throughout the Second World War armed with a longbow, and a Scottish broadsword. He is known for the motto "any officer who goes into action without his sword is improperly armed."
On the invasion to france, Churchill gave the signal to attack by cutting down the enemy Feldwebel (sergeant) with a barbed arrow, becoming the only British soldier known to have felled an enemy with a longbow in WWII.
He took 42 German prisoners and captured a mortar post using only his sword, taking one guard as a human shield and then creeping between sentry posts and forcing the soldiers to surrender.
On battle, a mortar shell killed or wounded everyone but Churchill, who was playing "Will Ye No Come Back Again?" on his pipes as the Germans advanced. He was knocked unconscious by grenades and captured, He was transferred to a concentration camp in Germany.
He had an escape attempt with a Royal Air Force officer, but they were captured a few kilometers away from the sea. Churchill eventually managed to escape and walked 150 kilometres to Italy where he met an American armoured force.
As the Pacific War was still on, Churchill was sent to Burma By the time Churchill reached India, Hiroshima and Nagasaki had been bombed and the war ended. Churchill was said to be unhappy with the sudden end of the war, saying: "If it wasn't for those damn Yanks, we could have kept the war going another 10 years."
