Psyonix has revealed all the info about the biggest update to your favourite game!
We're looking at:-

- New ranks.
- Changes to tournaments.
- New Items.
- New challenge-based reward system.
- A whole new Rocket Pass.
- Free to play and full cross-play.
- New quick chats.
- New modes.
- And more.

What does this all mean? Well, here's your breakdown...

New Ranks

Grand Champion (GC) will now be split into divisions, like the other ranks already are e.g. Grand Champion I, Grand Champion II etc. Furthermore, there will "be a new mountain top" to reach, above GC, called...
Supersonic Legend.
It will not have divisions, and is essentially the new GC. This new rank is expected to be populated with only pro players and the very best competitive players, leaving some room for current Champions to make their way into GC.

Season rewards and titles will be added for Supersonic Legends.

What's Happening To Lower Ranks?
Changes are happening at the lower ranks too. Any players currently between Bronze and high Silver will gain an mmr boost with the arrival of free to play, to separate them from new players.

Note: Ranked mode will now be locked for new players until they reach level 10.

What Season Is It Again?

Both the Rocket Pass and the Season itself will be reset to season 1 with the arrival of free to play. You will keep all your items and your level will remain the same. No previous Rocket Passes will be repeated, but we will be using the number 1 to describe the next season of Rocket League and the next Rocket Pass. The season and pass after will be called 2, and so on.
This is to make it easier for new players to get involved in the game.

New Quick Chats

The new quick chats are:-

- Faking.
- Bumping!
- On your left.
- On your right.
- Passing!

New Modes

All we know for now is Heatseeker is being added to private matches, as requested frequently by the community.

Note: Solo Standard will be removed when the new season begins.

Note: A new bot difficulty will be added underneath rookie.

Other Changes

The Merc will be given a larger hit-box that is more appropriate for the size of the car.

Monstercat remixes of fan-favourite songs will be added.

Default new player settings:-

- Voice chat > Disabled.
- Air roll > (PS4) L2, (XboxOne) LT.

You read that right! Musty has jumped at his new spot on NRG, not on the team, but as a content creator; in the same way that Sunless Khan and Jon Sandman are a part of Spacestation Gaming.

Some of you may have seen this one coming, since Musty has spent some time honing his skills with GarretG and SquishyMuffinz recently in high level ranked sessions. It will be interesting to see what new content this will bring forward on Musty's YouTube channel: we might be seeing more of the elusive JSTN too, who seems to avoid guest appearances.

Musty might not openly mention that he would like to go pro, but it seems that may be a goal he wants to achieve. After countless hours of training in 1s and playing with the pros, he might be ready to start a career in competitive Rocket League.

Will Musty's addition to NRG help him push further towards joining a roster? It's not a golden ticket, but I think he'll be a serious consideration for NRG should someone leave the team.

Whatever the future holds, congratulations to Musty and good luck for the future!
