Everything went smoothly with the transfer to our new host, and all is working fine. For a short while you might still see the "Forum Locked" message - this just means that your ISP's name servers haven't refreshed their data for our domain yet.

After our unplanned 36-hour hiatus, we're back up and running with the site, forums, and downloads fully working once again. I'll restore the custom maps back to the rotation when I get home from work tonight.

Our web host has suspended our account due to a billing cockup that they didn't have the decency to let me know about. I sorted our end of things last night, and I'm now waiting for the account to be reinstated.

Unfortunately, the website also hosted the fast custom map downloads for our server. While we could continue to play custom maps, anyone downloading a new map would get it directly from the game server at a pathetic 8kb/s. This isn't good enough, so we've disabled custom maps until we get everything back online.

Needless to say I'm a bit pissed off right now. I've been a good customer for over two years and they pull a stunt like this... :|

Hooray it's nearly here ! The Self Preservation Society is nearly one ! I'm expecting lots of full on server action over the weekend with a few special surprises thrown in on Sunday the 2nd (of Dec) our official birthday day. Stay tuned folks it's all about to get *interesting*

The Self Preservation Society's sister community - Okinawa-World - has launched its Team Fortress 2 server today! The Oki-World team includes many of the same people that make up our Society, and are a great bunch to play both DoD:S and TF2 with.
