Guide To Help A Gibus (Invite All Your Friends)

Here is the literall definition: "The Ghastly Gibus (/'gæstli gɪbəs/ gast-lee gi-buhs) is an unlockable cosmetic item for all classes. It is a slightly damaged black gibus hat with the top nearly detached."

Now you may be asking: "What does this have to do with anything?" but fear me not my fellow hat craving scumbags! becuase everything will be explained here:

Valve added the Gibus before TF2 was F2P. (free to play for those who did not know, most of you might) It was added into the game on October 29th 2009. This hat was earned by visiting a hidden web page.

Everything was fine and dandy; players where satisfied with their hats and skill. Bearing in mind these individuals paid TF2, you would expect them to invest numerous hours into the game.

Anyway, Valve then took a massive risk, enabling people to play TF2 for free in 2011. It definitely paid off though. Millions of new players joined the scene, and the community was growing. Until...

This is where our story begins. One day, a P2P (pay to play) let his guard down, and he was dominated by a F2P player. The P2P player obviously was skilled enough to hold his own, but the relentless newcomer earned his kills and assists to eventually obtain his first hat.

Now here's the problem: Valve made it the Gibus look like a great item to have, they added an achievement to congratulate you and they have blessed us with the ability to paint and style the hat. The Gibus is indeed a good hat.

But the members of the community think otherwise. Gibus' are seen to be inexperienced and noobish, which is completely untrue. There are great Gibus wearers out there who want to just get on in life and play the game. Which is they way to go.
