The member we lost decided to dedicate more time and energy towards their main org affiliation and in essence trimmed the fat. We can't make everyone a believer in our message but it's always good people have somewhere they feel they belong.

And yes October was one of largest growths in membership we've seen in a long time. Let's build off this momentum and carry it onward to November.

Teamspeak is no more! What's an org to do without Teamspeak? Well we decided as a group purely by display of increased activity levels, morale and absolute love of the program Discord to have Eckho to stop payment for Teamspeak.

So everyone, let Eckho know you appreciated his contribution! The beauty of Discord is that it cost nothing to any of our members. And it's more aligned with the aesthetics of our organization, plus people seem to love its more chat-centric focus.

WHAT ELSE IS NEW

A lot of structure, naming, policy changes are being discussed in the forums even right now as I post this so take an active role. In the month of October we finished up a 1st draft of our structure summary and drafted a FAQ. Once it gets a 2nd or 3rd look over you will eventually see it added to our website that is under construction.

So not bad considering that was on the To Do list last month and was knocked out.

We are in a state of stable but constant change, I believe the best word is refinement yet some drastic changes can still occur. We want to make sure this is an organization where every voice is heard. It's why we work really hard on all our policies and draft the rules in which different branches of AID are to abide by.

As always your input is wanted, do not stay silent. This organization will be home to many players, we want it to be the sort of family you always wanted to have in a video game. And your participation ensures that becomes a reality.

It was a slow month, not our first nor last but goodness wait till you see Octobers Overview cause our numbers are up.

WHAT'S NEW?
=========================================
1) We're attempting to use Slack and see if it works well as a collaborating tool between a small group of players. So far it's been a challenge, in fact OneNote has been a much better medium between our members to work off of.

Be on the look out as he might be looking for voice actors, if and when he is ready to look for such people to fill roles I will post an announcement looking for volunteers.

3) The Endeavor is released and Hospital Ships are the talk of the town, sadly it is not without controversy given the insta-spawn element to it. But it has clearly sparked some passionate debates on the RSI forums. With our own Dltprm being quite the voice of reason.

We're working on a FAQ, I want to make certain things clear so there is no confusion. Also it saves me time as an ARC member (Human Resources) from having to explain things more than once. Remember I don't copy and paste anything but weblinks when I write welcome messages. So having a link directing to an FAQ will save me a whole lot of time.

Last month I spoke about an Advocate meeting, I won't lie my past month has been hectic and I've failed at making an Advocate meeting a reality. But such is the nature of a To Do list....to eventually do it.


FINAL THOUGHTS
=========================================
I know we call ourselves a Search and Rescue Org, but we're more than that...we are a humanitarian aid organization. I really look forward to how we can expand our reach beyond just SAR. Perhaps exploration is an endeavor we should discuss, let's be the org that makes first contact in the most peaceful way possible. Or maybe we can expand into farming and help feed starving planets.

Yet we as an organization are faced with the reality that at least 90% of the people in the game will be NPCs and even then no one is truly starving, no one truly hurt... yet realizing this I say who cares.

Let's be the sort of people we ought to be always, let's do good in ways that may have little benefit to our organization. Sure if it's too damaging to our growth it can be overlooked for now, but our ambitions far exceed Search and Rescue as there will be many orgs profiting from such a venture. Whereas we can find value in other areas where people are unable to seek profits, instead are only left with positive experiences.

But that is just my two cents.

To those that left, one wanted to explore piracy which is fine as it's a game and having fun means different things to different people. The other realized his affiliation with us goes against his orgs exclusive policy and for that we understand. May they preform SAR missions for their org as it doesn't matter who saves lives...so long as someone is able to be helped when it is needed.

Once all the Advocates get together, we will start setting up the new admin positions to be filled. We need people to be the point of contact and take lead in areas such as Recruitment, Social Media, as well as more members in ARC to help with the influx of members we might encounter once the first 2 are established.

Anyone spent anytime on the Social Module yet? I personally am not excited as I'm still waiting for us to be able to do SAR and Medical activities even if we have to shoot people in the FPS module in order to create casualties. (The ends justify the means)

Lastly I just wanted to say, thank you everyone for choosing to be part of this organization. Without all of you, it would be hard to believe we could make much of a difference yet with every new member our potential to do good grows.

As you can tell in the last month, not everyone uses steam. It's understandable and we don't enforce it, we simply are holding out till orgs 2.0. But what of our departing member, well they chose to leave Star Citizen and pursue other gaming interest for now. Their account however is no longer in their possession, such is the nature of the world we live in. One junk is a treasure to another.

Anyone on the forums will know in the month of July we had our most active thread and justifiably so as it dealt with the structure of the organization as a whole. The vote for the structure changes are still ongoing

Though this doesn't fall under the July overview it is something worth mentioning. After the voting ends and is approved, we will begin nominating people for BAR (Board of Auxilium Review). Also this is what it will take to start getting our key members in place, so a recruitment, marketing, social media team may be formed as with these clear and concise structure guidelines we could start inviting more people into the fold.


FINAL THOUGHTS

I know we haven't been gaming much as an org, no one took interest in a muti-gaming community either. With that said, I plan to get the ball rolling before Star Marine so make sure you all uninstall your Star Citizen if you haven't downloaded 1.1.6 yet. I believe with the new installer I had the whole game downloaded in one hour.

I'm sure none of us expect this game to get released in 2016, and that is fine. What we do have however is Arena Commander and a community of some of the most interesting minds with a good willed nature ever assembled...that I've seen. I reached out to our departing member, his reasons for leaving dealt with joining a more exclusive organization that was more aligned to his faith and we respect that. But I do want to stress, I reach out to any member who leaves to seek any constructive criticism and feedback. Each and every single one of you has a voice and the organization takes shape with each idea everyone brings to the table.

WHAT'S NEW?

We have a new sub forum called "The Assembly" any discussions about changing it's name...will require one of you to feel free to start such a thread.

So what is it about? It's about creating new policy, changing or establishing new rules or guidelines. Adding new branches or positions or removing old ones...etc. Basically it's where you state ONE IDEA (not a giant list of proposals) that you would like to see happen and people reply and give feedback or promote it to vote for it!

Who decides what goes to the Voting Booth?

Technically we all do, threads with the most replies will naturally receive more attention. But more promoting a thread to be voted on, such as people replying they like the idea and what to see it in the voting booth will generally be sufficient for a mod or admin of the forum to give the go ahead to allow the user making the suggestion to post it to the Voting Booth sub-forum.

In the future when we refine the organizational structure, expect a more specific group of members tracking issues raised by the community and deciding which ones go to vote. Yet till we have that in place, mods and admins of the forums will take on that task.

AID CHANGES

Through the democratic process we've officially allowed smugglers into the organization, piracy though was shot down. Mind you pending on new developing information smuggling may be subject to a revote yet I can easily say smuggling does not impact our current principles. Any future guidelines in regards to smuggling, weapons running or drugs will be up for a future vote. I will like to stress that smuggling slaves is not just smuggling... the term for that is slaving which is a non-starter. It goes against our principle of Humanity and therefore cannot be put to a vote.

I want us to have a sit down over Teamspeak to re-read everything we have posted on the RSI page (History, Manifesto, Charter) . See what needs to be made more clear or refined, make a list of what should be added and how we can better place the information. Those who want to participate we will post something in the forums to find a good day for that.

Also it's highly encouraged if you have something you want to be added feel free to draft it up ahead of time and maybe it will be added if everyone else agrees.

FINAL THOUGHTS

This has been a pretty inactive month as one of our members has been without internet unless they drove to somewhere with Wi-Fi. And myself has had my wife on vacation from graduating the Navy for the past two weeks. Expect more polls and more discussions in the month of July. Maybe even a splash page for our org (Everyone cheer on TheTaylorr to make it happen!)
