Dota Leagues

After a long period of planning, we proudly announce the start of our first; two Swiss Dota 2 Leagues. A prizepool of more than 15’000.- CHF awaits the twelve participating teams! The prizepool of the 1st League is divided respectively 7’500.- CHF for 1st Season (5 months) and 7’500.- CHF for 2nd Season (5 months). In the context of the leagues we will cooperate with the Swiss TV station joiz. They will broadcast one match of either leagues per week depending on times and teams. This will be the first time that an e-sports show is aired on Swiss national TV!

E-sports are not that big in Switzerland yet. Most people have not even heard of e-sports and some who have heard of it have bad opinion on our upcoming sport. Whereas in other countries you can make a living with e-sports there are still not a lot of tournaments where you can actually win money. This year we want to change that (at least for Dota 2 players). SwissDC starts in co-operation with joiz: two Dota 2 leagues. The second league is open to everyone while the first league is exclusive. If you want to be a part of the second league, you need to qualify yourself at the mini-tournament that takes place on the last weekend of February.

Twelve teams for the first league
Teams can’t register themselves for the exclusive first league. If you want to participate the 1. League there are two ways to do so:
SwissDC will choose after our own criteria’s six teams who will automatically be part of the league. The other six teams will be determined in the mini-tournament that takes places on the 12th and 13th Of March. The rules for the mini-tournament can already be found HERE. It’s worth joining! There’s not only Prize Money for the first three places, but you can also gain Points for each game you win. Each one of those points gets your Team 5 prize money. The full prize money will be paid to your team after the season finale.

The Premier League (1st league) starts at the 12th and 13th of March.

Not every member of the team has to be Swiss, but at least three of the playing players of one team should live in Switzerland. More information about the first league: Including the rules, the co-operation with joiz and the registration will follow soon.

A league for everyone
For the second league you can directly register yourself. This league is open for everyone and you can join and leave at every point of the tournament. The number of teams for the second league is endless! You can win non cash-prizes instead of prize money. The second league starts at the 25th of March.
