As we all know Rust was hit with a massive update last week, with this came a new xp levelling system. This system bought with it a whole bunch of BUGS and EXPLOITS, as a result there will be a forced wipe this week......

Here is an insert from a Rustafied post - [It has been a rocky start for the new XP system. With huge balance issues and poor performance, the team has been scrambling to get everything solid again. This however is not a bad thing for us, as we have our public event kicking off on july 15tth-18th. This means everyone will be starting at an even par.

UPDATES

A whole lot of changes have been made to how the xp system works, decreasing alot of ways xp can be gained. Here are some examples~
-The amount of xp you can earn from a player has changed to 6xp (maximum)
-You will not get xp for using resources, instead you will get it from crafting but only for the 1st few times you craft an item
-xp gain diminshes. This means you will get the less xp the more someone harvests for you
-xp radius system(W.I.P.), this means you wont get xp off other players that are xxx distance from your location, hopefully this means there will be less afk players and more players hanging around each other for xp boost.

Adding to the xp changes, there is some performance changes coming with the next update. Last update forced servers to be using 30+ GB of RAM, this issue was resolved however there is still alot of work to be done. However Garry has some projects in the works which should include some optimizations having servers running smoother with the update.

The gunplay optimizations that were mentioned in devblog 117, this will change hitboxes and how damaege is dealt. No more clothing hits getting counted as a body hit, no more little vulnerable spots meaning greater consistency, PvP should feel alot more 'realistic' so to speak after next update.

You may have noticed the introduction of direct x 12 feature, it is not recomended to use this, from the looks of it it will be awhile before all the performance issues caused by using this will be fixed.

SERVER UPDATES

With the new xp system came many server changes, while the server has been running at 2x we will be changing to 5x. This is not an overly dramatic increase and along with the zLevels plugin this should suffice.
Big Weekend this Weekend 15th-18th july aus, event officialy kicks off at 6am gmt +9.30.
Going to add a new humanity plugin which will give players more of an option of taking on a hero/bandit roll.
Remover tool will only be active until fridays update, until the ownership string is worked out this tool can and will be overly exploited, to avoid this i am removing this plugin from the server.(please ensure you have everything correctly placed.)
Active kits will be tweaked to suit players a little better without being OP.
More quests will be added during the week.
