Rivals of Aether is a new Smash-like game that takes a lot of inspiration from Melee. This group is dedicated to players living in Ontario, Canada who want to get better at the game, play competitively or just have fun with it.

I'm going to be hosting a free to play, online tournament for everyone in this group. There's no prize at the moment as I'm still trying to test the format and make sure everything can run smoothly, hopefully in the future though I can put up a game or two for the winner. If everything goes well I plan on making this a weekly or bi-weekly event.

Date: Saturday, October 24th
Time: 7pm Eastern, 6:45 Check In
Price: Free
Prize: N/A
Format: Single Elimination, Best of 3s until Finals
Finals Format: Best of 5
Stage Restrictions: No striking, all basic random stages
Characters: No restrictions

*Please make sure your sign up name on challonge is the same as your steam name, this will make it easier to organize things*

On the day of the tournament, join the Steam group chat when you check in so that you can coordinate who you'll be playing against. If you don't check in and/or aren't in the group chat you will be DQ'd from the tournament.

I'll try and spectate the Semi-Finals + Finals so I can record and post them on YouTube, don't want to get too ambitious with streaming right off the bat.

I just joined and I happened to be the 70th member of this group. Today was sept 26th. Exactly 6 years when this group was born. But today, it feels empty like the city devastated by chernobyl.
