Hello and welcome back to another update of No Man’s Land. For today’s update, we have many new things, just for you.

The Battle of Cantigny, fought on 28 May 1918, the second day of the great German offensive, was the first American offensive of World War I. The 28th Infantry Regiment of the U.S. 1st Infantry Division (3,564 troops), under Major-General Robert Lee Bullard, captured the village of Cantigny from the German Eighteenth Army commanded by von Hutier. The village was situated on high ground surrounded by woods, making it an ideal target for German artillery.

Aiding the capture, the French provided air cover, 368 heavy guns, trench mortars, and flamethrowers. The advancing American infantry was aided by twelve French Schneider tanks used to eliminate German machine gun posts. With this support, and advancing much more audaciously than expected, the 28th Infantry took the village in 45 minutes.

For three days after the capture of the village, the Germans launched heavy counterattacks upon the Americans. Another regiment, the 26th Infantry, came forward to support the 28th. The position was held.

The Americans expanded their front by approximately a mile. A minor success, its significance was overshadowed by the battle underway along the Aisne. The U.S. forces held their position with the loss of 1,067 casualties; they captured 100 German prisoners. Matthew B. Juan, a Native American war hero, was killed during this battle. The American success at Cantigny was followed by attacks at Château-Thierry and Belleau Wood in the first half of June.

And finally, The Renault FT 17 or Automitrailleuse à chenilles Renault FT modèle 1917 was a French light tank; it is among the most revolutionary and influential tank designs in history. The FT 17 was the first tank with an armament in a fully rotating turret, and its configuration with the turret on top, engine in the back and the driver in front became the conventional one, repeated in most tanks until today; at the time it was a revolutionary innovation, causing armour historian Steven Zaloga to describe the type as "the world's first modern tank."

For the past few weeks, we have been working hard both on and off our computers. As we all know, the school season has started, and that means there's much less time for development, which is the main reason there hasn't been an update in a while. The majority of the team is in High School, which is very demanding of time, especially when members of the team are involved with extracurricular activities. Keep in mind that because there will not be an update for a while, but that is NOT because we are dead. We are as vibrant as ever, we just have less development time. Please do not think this mini-mod is dead.
To appease our fanbase and keep interest alive, I have prepared a little eye candy for you.

Hello and welcome to another No Man ’s Land news. Today’s news will contain many interesting things, for those who have asked for them.

First thing you have been asking for were some new renders, to show only models made by us. Here you can see our work:
First, the first practical submachine gun used in combat, the MP-18.

The MP-18.1 manufactured by Theodor Bergmann Waffenbau Abteilung was introduced into service in 1918 by the German Army during World War I as the primary weapon of the Stosstruppen, assault groups specializing in trench warfare. Although MP-18 production ended in the 1920s, its design formed the basis of most submachine guns manufactured between 1920 and 1960.

The MP-18 primarily served in final stages of World War I in 1918, especially in the Kaiserschlacht offensive. At least 5,000 MP-18.1s were built and used during World War I, based upon observed serial number ranges of captured weapons. However, it is possible that up to 10,000 were built for the war. Though production was outlawed by the Treaty of Versailles, manufacture continued in secret into the early 1920s, as the final production total (again, based upon observed serial numbers) ended at around 35,000.

The MP-18 proved to be an excellent weapon. Its concept was well proven in trench fights. Its basic design directly influenced later submachine gun designs and showed its superiority verses the regular infantry rifle in urban combat and mobile warfare as well as in guerrilla warfare. In 1919 during the German revolutionary period, MP-18 were used successfully in house-to-house fights to regain control of the cities of Berlin and Munich in what was more of a police-type counter-insurgency than a military operation.
All the limited conflicts between 1920 and 1940 saw an increasing use of this new class of weapons, first in South America during the Chaco war, then in Europe during the Spanish Civil War, and in China during the Japanese invasion where its use by well trained Chinese troops was costly for the invaders as in the battle of Shanghai, where fierce street fights prefigured World War II urban combat of Stalingrad, Warsaw, Vienna and Berlin.

Hello and welcome to the first (Warrior-approved ;D) No Man’s Land News! This will be the last No Man’s Land news with Battlefield 1918/2 content.

First up, we have the Steilhandgrenate Model 1917.

When World War One began, grenade technology was extremely primitive at best, as not much of the design had changed in over a century. As battles evolved from open fields into grim, muddy trench warfare, grenades became a very important weapon for clearing out groups of enemy ranks while the thrower remained out of the direct line of fire. Favoured for their superior range over round grenades, many stick grenade variants were produced on both sides, but most notably by Germany. In 1917, Germany designed and put into production what we now recognize as the classic stick grenade, whose fuses were much more reliable than traditional grenades. It was mainly used as an offensive grenade, and it was designed to kill by its concussion wave, instead of shrapnel, and to stun anyone in the area that it didn’t immediately kill. This allowed the thrower to immediately follow the grenade in instead of having to hide behind cover, thus making it one of the first and most effective lethal flash-bang grenades. The grenade design was so effective that by the time 1916 rolled around, German munitions factories were producing over 8,000,000 grenades a month. Between 1914 and 1917, twenty different versions of the stick grenade were fielded. Even with the high variation of grenades, the Model 1917 was the standard and other models were soon phased out.

Next up, we have the Geballte Ladung.

The Geballte Ladung Is essentially six to eight m1917 grenade-heads strapped together and was commonly used for anti-personnel and anti-fortification. This useful device could blow a door open, a wall down, a man’s body apart, and rip a tank apart. It came onto the battlefield when armoured cars came out, and when normal machine-gun ammunition wouldn’t penetrate the relatively thick armour. The geballte ladung was used to rip apart that armour and effectively destroy the cars, and when they appeared on the battlefields, the tanks.

Last, but certainly not least, we have the Mills Bomb.

The Mills Bomb was designed by William Mills in 1915, but was based off of a Belgian Army design (the Roland Grenade) dating back to 1912. In 1915 the British army adopted it as its standard hand grenade. Between 1915 and 1918, over 75 million Mills Bombs were developed. It was a fragmentation grenade, filled with Baratol-a mixture of TNT and barium nitrate. Because its detonator was awkwardly placed, It sprayed out shrapnel unequally. The Mills bomb underwent many variations, but It was so favoured by the army that it was the standard grenade until the 1970’s.
