Welcome to the [neo] Left 4 Dead 2 Tournament League!!

Our goal is to bring as many players together as possible to form our own competitive league, which will run monthly for Left 4 Dead 2. Players interested will be able to form their own teams and will be playing 1-2 scheduled games per week, bringing the final two teams together at the end of the month.

This will not be limited to just current [neo] group members, we encourage you to recruit new members/friends to join us. The more teams we have the better it’ll be. Members must already be or become NEO members to participate because they will not be able to view content on NEOs “by invite only” group.

Each team will have between 4-6 players (to allow for alternates), depending on the teams choice. All teams must nominate a Captain who will serve as a liaison between the team and the [neo] Admins to ensure games are occurring as scheduled and to relay the outcome of matches.

There will also be a team fee of $12 per team per month. $3 per team will go to the cost of NEO servers, $1 will go towards PayPal receiving money transfer fee, and the remaining $8 per team will be pooled to be divided between wining team members towards a Steam Game or PayPal transfer back to player. (ex: 8 teams =$64 prize pool for the month, divided by winning team members). Fees serve to promote team morale and consistency as teams are more likey to participate as scheduled.

The tournament structure will be two (2) loss elimination in weeks 1 and 2. Once we reach week 3 for the semi final match it will be a one (1) loss elimination.

STILL WANT TO DO NEO LEAGUE?

Our beta month went great. We had 5 teams which was an awesome start. However, some teams were having issues communicating with other teams to schedule matches. And other teams had members that couldn’t or didn’t want to pay the $3 fee for winnings.

My questions are…

1) Do you want to still do NEO LEAGUE?
2) If yes, how do you want it to change to accommodate your needs?
3) What form of “reward system” would motivate you?

Here are some possible suggestions.

• Less matches in the timeframe. Maybe spread the time to allow for 2 weeks getting the match completed? We do not have to complete a cycle in 1 month.
• Simplify rules and regs.

The decision on if I will continue this project/group will depend on the number of responses to this posting. I f you are all for it, be sure to get your peeps to post.

Hey Peeps, the first month of NEO League, in beta, is in full swing and doing great. If you are not on a team yet, form one or get in one by July 25th.

STEPS TO REGISTER:
1) Form a team.
2) Read Rules and Regulations.
3) Team Captain to fill out Team Registration form. BY JULY 25
4) Team Captain to create a Steam Group for their team.
5) Keep an eye out for updated ‘Monthly Tournament Schedule’ to see who you play.

I posted the winning team in an announcment. It was up for 2 weeks before I deleted it. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers won.

We currently only have 3 teams who made all their events. If we do not get a new team or two registering by Sunday I am considering closing down the NEO LEAGUE.

Bunny, I recommend IM’ing individuals who are in the league group but not yet on a team. IM’s usually work 1000x better.
