With Star Citizen 4.0 now released the game has gone to its next big step, server meshing (although static) is now live and the shards can now hold (number) of players, this is divided over the different servers. With 4.0 now also comes the addition of another system, Pyro.

The Pyro system is a dangerous and mostly anarchic system characterized by an unstable star. This means that the system in general is a lawless system where there is no UEE or other security to keep you safe or send you to jail should you commit crimes.

What does this mean for gameplay?
With the launch of server meshing, Pyro it means the big step to 1.0 has been made. Crafting & Base building will be next on the radar, with a tentative release date in 2025.

Now is also a good time to jump into the game and see what the state of the game is, learn to fly, learn the mechanics and learn how to avoid the bugs that are still around.

However, don’t go at it solo, get your Star Citizen rank by selecting it in ⁠role-selection, check to see when the vets are playing, hop into voice with them, ask them to stream the game and when you are ready to set foot in the verse, they can help you.

We have multi crew ships available where you can jump into the turrets, show you around the different stations, when you want to fly your own ship and do missions they can offer you advice, tips and tricks etc.

Now is a good time to check out the game and see how far they have come and see what is going to come for Star Citizen.

When you join, make sure to select the 4.0_PREVIEW option in the menu as CIG has decided to run the old client next to the new 4.0 client over the holidays!
