Local CS:GO Competitive Match-making Servers Online!

Greetings all CS:GO fans! It has been a while since competitive matchmaking servers have been made available for the public, but until very recently, was only available for players in regions like Europe and the Americas. We had recently collaborated with Valve to bring matchmaking servers to South Africa, but due to technical and resource concerns, competitive matchmaking servers were not on the menu…

Until today!

Valve has announced that they have started trialling competitive matchmaking servers on the provided infrastructure to gauge interest and uptake, the official announcement can be found here.
So how do you get into a competitive matchmaking game?

It’s quite simple! From the main screen of your CS:GO client, select “PLAY” -> “FIND A GAME” -> “COMMON” -> “COMPETITIVE” and choose which maps you’d like to play, and then finally, choose the giant “GO” button! For teams, you’ll need to create a lobby and invite friends, and from there follow the same procedure as above.

I have set up a Stabound server for testing purposes, just trying to figure out the basics of how everything works.

You're welcome to give it a go, but please be aware the server has no protection, no passwords, no nadda. Please play using a fresh character, or a character that you don't mind losing.

I'd like to get an idea of load on the machine it is hosted on, so bring friends and give it a thorough kicking!

No password required to join.

Hey, you can maybe hop onto your TS and see if there are any players in the public channels that are interested. You can also post on our forum if you are super keen.

MWEB has recently started hosting two America’s Army Proving Grounds servers. MWEB, a big thank you for this. It is much appreciated. Up till now the community of about 95 players have had to deal with this ourselves.

One of the two MWEB servers is full to the brim about every night since launched and the other one about half full. Any other players and clans that are interested in joining must please do so. America's Army Proving Grounds is a free to play first person shooter developed by the US defence force. There are 5 active existing clans and we are starting to play friendly clan matches.
