Who Are We?

The 1st Infantry Division was a well-established TR unit in CoD2 that operated between 2006 and 2011. In the last couple of days, a few of the old-breed have come together to give the Fighting First new life in Battalion 1944! We are looking for new blood to become part of the experience. We will be operating in Call of Duty 2 with our own modded server until the release of Battalion 1944.

What is Tactical Realism?

The 1st Infantry Division practices in a teamwork-oriented style of gameplay, known as "Realism.” It is much different from the ‘Run-and-Gun’ style play seen on stock game-play servers in most first person shooters. It is the portrayal of real tactics, strategies, and conduct through an online game. When you die in a realism mod, you do not respawn until the end of the round. You must work as a team to keep each other alive. If you are looking for a different gaming atmosphere, community, and experience - Realism may be for you.

What is Online Living History?

The 1st Infantry Division prides itself on recreating the look, feel, and operation of a real WWII Infantry unit. To do so, we are always in a Military Simulation (MILSIM) mode where we enforce ranks, respect, and render Army courtesies 24/7 while online. We utilize Tactical Realism mods to bring real-life reenacting and living history into a video game. What you will experience here is historical accuracy being taught through the video game in a range of ways. We do this because the 1st Infantry Division is fighting to preserve our history and to honor the veterans who fought and gave their all so that we could be here today. We are an organization that prides itself on training to WWII standards. Through our actions, Fighting First is helping to keep alive the memory of this outstanding division.
