Review on metacritic for a game called Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Fun at start, but closer to the end of the story goes too much into some propaganda about diversity, protest, and all that stuff, so the narative part feels less "organic" and more "forced", like to get some corporate points. Ok, I get it, that's a fantasy, do what you want, however safe dialogs, safe character design, healing spell called "dei" - too much to be a coinsidence, considering the name "metaphor". Thus score "mixed" better depicts the game - great start, disappointing story (hard to unseen when you spot that dei parts too often), gameplay could feel repetitive in some sections, great soundtracks.

I hope this Steam group isn't killed off like Sweet Baby Inc Detected was. They REALLY don't want anyone to find out about SBI's behaviour being close to actual fascism or terrorism.

CONTEXT: SBI gets into game developing companies as consultants by THREATENING their target with extremely bad press, spreading awful rumours, slandering campaigns, bad reviews, and attracting the demons of woke to ruin the game and the company.
If a company caves in to the demand, SBI gets a few millions, and they take over the HR department to some level, and the DEI and woke enforcement cannot be avoided for whatever studio they sink their teeth into.
This is getting confirmed more and more, so SBI is bordering on criminal at this point in time.

Games don't have to be ethical !
I mean, most of the time you fight or kill, trying to put ethics into it is a bit of a waste of time.
And then it takes all the fun out of the games.
You want to escape politics and reality, but they come to bother you even in your games.

Thank you for the list. I don't want to support companies that make design changes focused on political culture instead of refining an original vision of a story. To me its like censoring art. Especially when the changes favor going in one specific direction and is biased.

This is great group i just joined because i want to know about every woke game, devs involved, studios and consultants etc involved. I will NOT BUY THEIR GAMES IF THEY ARE IN SAME CIRCLES.
So you might not see it anymore because you getting used to the woke. Any woke group, game etc out there, i want to know so i can avoid their games.

I've played the every Sonic game listed here, there's nothing woke in them, Frontiers has 1 thing you may consider woke but it might as well be an insult to the pride community

@Hellvlad Regarding Wingspan: I don't know anything about the game, but it seems that ornithology itself is in the process of renaming all birds named after people to something else, partly for social stigma reasons, and partly to be more descriptive in the naming. And apparently, the U.S. has more birds named after people than a lot of other countries, thus more U.S. birds are being changed. I don't know how this plays into changes within the Wingspan game, but just thought I'd mention it in case it adds some context.

@Melchor: As I'm a board games enthusiast, I have the answer for you for Wingspan. The original game had a goal called "historian" that was giving you extra points for collecting birds named after their discoverer, In later expansions the editor decided to scrap this card and render it useless because they realized that ll the names mentioned were "straight white males" and it was lacking diversity. They even renamed the birds in question in the new reprints to get rid of the names completely. Just because the guys were not born with the right genes. Stegmeier games is highly woke and infects the board gaming industry and its electronic counterpart with wokeness through consultancy.

how does the game selection process here even work? i joined in, because i wanted to be warned about games that shove political messaging in your face with the grace of a sledgehammer.

but there are also games like wingspan in here, which is literally just a tabletop game about birds. its about as political as a wikipedia article about different bird species written by an ornithologist, which means not even the tiniest bit.

there is no identity politics in there, or even ecological messaging which wouldnt even bother me. how did this game land on that list?
