Deadlock — a new game from Valve

Deadlock - (previously known under the code name Neon Prime) is a new game from Valve in a unique setting, which is a mixture of fantasy and steampunk, combining elements of MOBA, Tower Defense and a third-person shooter. The game is described as a mixture of Dota 2, Half-Life and Overwatch. According to rumors, the game designer is the well-known IceFrog, who is engaged in balance in Dota 2.

The concept is very reminiscent of Dota: two teams of six people start on different sides and, moving along four lanes with creeps, destroy towers to reach the enemy base and destroy the "throne". However, the new product cannot be called a full-fledged clone: ​​the combat system resembles that in other third-person shooters and involves various types of weapons such as submachine guns, bows and even shooting fire from a finger.

Gameplay-wise, Deadlock is very similar to Dota 2. You pick heroes at the beginning of the match, and then go to one of the lanes with creeps, farm them and destroy enemy towers. However, there are many differences and subtleties. First of all, you do not have starting currency at the beginning of the match, so purchasing items begins only after farming. Also, unlike Dota, you can move around the map very quickly thanks to the rails that you jump on and almost instantly reach the lane. The mechanics are very similar to those in BioShock Infinite. All this implies that the gameplay, unlike that in Dota, will be more dynamic and aggressive.

In addition, the familiar mechanics from MOBA are not fully transferred. If in Dota the principle of "whoever finishes off the creep gets gold" works, then in Deadlock after a kill, a projectile flies out of the creep, and when it is destroyed, you are awarded the local currency - souls.
